I know this is a big expense. Also, we are traveling around Christmas 2007...... What are the best cruises you have taken this time of year and to where?

There are actually some cruise lines that are really all-inclusive. Regent Seven Seas (formerly Radisson Seven Seas) offers alcoholic beverages included in the price of the cruise. Royal Caribbean offers a beverage add-on package that would allow you to get cocktails from any bar onboard. There are definitely some options for you.

For Christmas 2007 consider a Royal Caribbean cruise or one of the premium cruise lines. The ships are all decked out for the Christmas holiday season.

Most cruise lines do not include cocktails/drinks. Cruise Lines that have small passenger ships, like Windstar and Windjammer may be all-inclusive. Also the lines that cater to the very rich like Cunard also may offer it.

Just be aware, you will be paying for that cocktail one way or another.

As to where to go for Christmas, pick an area that you want to visit, granted you are not going to be able to do an Alaskan cruise in December, but cruises in the carribean or in the Med, the weather should be very nice.

Only the ultra-high price lines include alcoholic drinks for no extra cost. These are SilverSeas, Radisson Seven Seas, and Seabourne. The daily cost of these lines runs around $1000 per day per person.

While these lines are ultra-luxury, you have to figure the cost of paying for drinks at around $7 per drink on most ships is much less than all-inclusive on the ultra-luxury lines.

As for where to cruise this time of year - the Caribbean is warm and sunny.

Silver Sea cruise line is all inclusive.
There may be others. I would recommend calling or emailing Bob Johnston at Cruise Planners (link below), he arranged my last two cruises.
