i have feelings for my gf, like i have never had feelings for anyone else. they feel different than the feelings i have for my family. what's that called? i mean, we're both 13, had our first kiss a couple of days ago, and we both want to be with each other as long as we can. does anyone know what that means? if you have a pretty decent answer or description, let me know.

It could mean 'love'.....
We love people and things, but in a different manner. We love our family, love our dog, love pizza, love to play soccer, love our best friends, but the feelings you're describing are the beginnings of the 'L' word in a romantic sense. It can make you crazy, make you daydream, make you want to be together, etc. but don't get so caught up in it that you forget the other things and people who are important to you. You're young and you'll probably fall in love several times, and it will definitely hurt when you break up, but it's necessary part of life and you'll grow stronger because of it. Take care and good luck..... :o)

Some people call it "first love" others use a more quaint term, "puppy love". SInce it's a mutual attraction it's more than a "crush" which isn't usually reciprocated. It's that first flush of infatuation for another person of the opposite sex. You think about them all the time and you want to spend all your free time with them. It's a normal time in your sexual and emotional development where you will want to test boundaries and experiment. USE CAUTION when you're experimenting, though, because things can happen before you're ready for them. Be respectful and honest with each other and yourself. I don't want to put a damper on what must really feel great right now, but you need to be aware that at 13 these feelings might not last very long. It's only natural and right because you should have lots of friends--platonic as well as romantic--for a lot of years to come. When the breakup comes, don't feel too hurt or disappointed or feel you did something wrong or that there's something the matter with you. It's all part of growing up.

Congratulations on your first real relationship. Enjoy it and be good to each other and to yourselves.

This is called infatuation. This is where you are totally infatuated with the other person and think that they are just the best thing that has ever happened to you. This usually wears off in a while, you are only 13 and believe me.....you will feel this way alot. Infatuation is usually a source of the illusion that you have created about the other person. It is not long lasting, it is not love, and it can feel really great, it feels wayyyy better than love because it's just too good to be true.
