Hi..

I was just wandering. Is it legal in US to own a Dragunov Tiger Sniper Rifle?
I have hared some people say that they use it for hunting. And i sae a couple of those rifles on sale at the official Dragunov website. So that's why i'm asking this.
In the state of NJ is it legal? If not what states allow those kind of guns?

Thank You.

The Brady ban is dead. 99% of its restrictions died when George Bush refused to sign the continuance order keeping it in place. I knew I voted for him for some reason.

As for the Dragunov being legal? Some states only allow hunting with shotguns for political and some practical reasons. The rifle itself is not illegal per say. The 7.62x54 caliber is not illegal either. Some states like KALIFORNIA have bull**it bans on high cap magazines and they even make you use a fixed low cap magazines to make the less common denominators feel safe at night.

As for your state..... Check with your local NRA representative. They will give you the most information with the least political spin.

By the way. Either put pressure on your tree hugger politicians and vote them out or you'll one day not even have the right to talk about guns. Its why I live in a state where the governor hunts and was supported by the NRA.

John F Kennedy was killed with a bolt action italian military rifle, which was never released as a sniper rifle at all. It was simply a regular miltitary rifle fitted with a scope. Any high powered rifle with a scope can be used to snipe with. Normally a long range sniper has a longer, thicker barrel. But it's not the rifle that makes it a sniper. It's the guy looking through the sight. But if you don't know that, I recommend sticking with my favorite, the Halo 3 version.

In Indiana you could shoot targets, hunt coyotes and even squirrels (a very open-ended description of legal firearms for squirrel hunting), but you can not hunt deer with it. The excuse is that Indiana is too populated. Where does everyone go during coyote season? Or where does everyone come from during deer season?

I know you mean Dragunov.
