I am not a smoker but I tried a cigarette at a Christmas party last month. I felt "high" but it went away after a few seconds. I could see why smoking is so addictive. Smokers obviously go back repeatedly for that short-lived rush.

If you're a nonsmoker, did you ever smoke a cigarette and enjoy it? I am not going to start smoking, but I wonder if other nonsmokers have tried one and thought it felt great, instead of gross like they were expecting.

the buzz that you felt was a nicotine buzz and that only happens when you haven't had one in a long time, or the first time you smoke, it never really happens at all when your a regular smoker, what we are addicted to is the nicotine, nothing to do with that short buzz cuz we never really feel it.

I am a non-smoker and have never tried a cigarette but have heard stories similar to yours.

I have seen too many relatives, mom (at age 57) included who were smokers that died a very unpleasant death to cancer. Not a lecture just an observation why I would never even try it.

been there done that, I usually have to be really intoxicated to want a cigarette, I can have one and then not even desire another for months.

as a smoker i can tell you that the "high" i get first thing in the morning, or when i havnt had a cigarette in a while is EXACTLY why i keep smoking. i know its disgusting, i know its killing me, i know it smells horrible, i know i smell horrible, i know my breath is funky....i know all the bad things...but i am addicted, and i enjoy the rush...and its a lot better than getting drunk or stoned i guess.
