I'm 16 years old, and I WAS 5'6, but I think I've grown a bit since. I've noticed that I've also gained 5 pounds this school year .... I'm now 110 and I think it's inching up to 111. I've been going to the gym lately, and my eating habits are fairly healthy, so I don't know why I'm gaining weight. My weight has never been this high before, and if it has, I've always been able to lose the weight in days. Now, I can't seem to get it to budge. Why is this? What's a good way to lose these 5 pounds quickly and safely?

You are also getting older. Its normal to gain weight through highschool. It doesnt mean you are getting fat, it means you are growing a more mature body. Look at midage women who are in shape. They dont have the exact figure of a 16 year old but they are in shape and probably about the same weight. Your body shape is going to change, its a fact of life. Your weight is not going to be the same as when you were 13 when you are 20, thats not healthy either. As long as you are working out and eating healthy dont worry about (I know its easier said then done)

16.....well those are the years that your body is actually building itself, but you need to watch out because the way u eat now may affect your lifestyle later on, go easy on junk food, fats, and carbs
eat more proteins and make sure they are lean cuts
also eat lots of salad because its good for numerous reasons, eg skin also fruits are really good for you because they have a wide variety of vitamins. Dont forget to drink water, watch out sometimes thirst disguises itself as hunger. By the way even though nutd have oil in them, their oil is really healthy....so if u dont have have time for breakfast(which is the most important meal of the day) have a handfull of nuts and a spoon of honey!
never ever miss breakfast, its the meal that boosts your metabolism
its more important if u lose the weight in a healthy way.....dont think about losing it quickly, because what comes fast goes fast
also make sure that in the gym your doing cardio and not muscle building by lifting weight....
