How do I put a 1 and 1 over 4 into simplest form? read more!?

i dont understand how to do it?! ok here is the quesiton
1 and 1/4 + 2 and 5/6

another is

8 and 1/7 + 6 and 2/3

4 and 1/8 + 3 and 1/2

please some1 help me! i dont understand!

Break your numbers down to the least common denominator.
1=12/12
1/4=3/12
2=24/12
5/6=10/12

12+3+24+10= 49/12 = 4 1/12
