Hell no! I don't and wouldn't believe in or worship bloodthirsty gods that demand human sacrifices.

Now, I read in some of the answers that Abraham was only being tested; even though he didn't kill his son, it is still an incredibly cruel and evil thing to do. If Abraham did that today he would be in jail serving a long sentence as someone's punk. It amazes me how Christians see this story as a sign of God's love. There is no love here, just pure unadulterated evil.

And you guys all seem to forget about Jephthah sacrificing his daughter (and yes this time God didn't stop the murder at the last minute). Go read Judges 11:29-40

Once again the Bible was not a fax sent down from Heaven. Most of it is symbology and cryptology. It has been interpreted from other languages, edited, revised, by mankind himself to control the masses. No - the God I know would not ask me to kill anyone. Thou Shalt Not Kill - is that not what he said?

I would say to the imposter you must be an imposter because Abraham already fulfilled his end of the bargain and God already fulfilled his end of the bargain by giving up his son. When God required this of Abraham it was becaue Abraham knew him well and was assured that God would not allow the child to die. If you read the passage when Abraham is walking to the atar he tells someone when I and the child return. It would sem this was the faith Abraham had in God. read it and see if what I am saying is true.

Absolutely not. You'd have to have a severe mental disability if you were willing to kill your child for a mythical being. And even if he was real, I wouldn't do it. The only kind of god that would be worth worshipping wouldn't ask you to kill your kid.

If God had given me the same promise that He gave Abraham I sure would. But He didn't so I won't.

Hmmnnn... the question there would be between me and my son is, "Who would go to heaven and who would go to hell?"

On Abraham's decision on God's trial had him a merit... but the choice would be if it had been done is from the Devil.

The penalty of death has been paid for all who accept it. If you are asked to make a sacrifice it is not God as the atonement has already been provided.

god symbolized what he "god" was going to have to do with his son jesus.......he was not just testing the faith of abraham he was giving the future prophets a sighn of what he would have to do to abolish the sin started by adom and eve,,,,,buy delivering jesus as a ransom for mankind to wash away that sin,,and to offer a mediater between man and god,,,a perfect man jesus, whom was sent in perfection like adom to be tested by satan and he was,to pass the test of obedeince to god knowing the weakness of the flesh, and showing man that that weakness can be supressed by faith and knowledge of the one and true god. listed at psalms 83;18....whom jesus prayed to..

You know, I'd like to say yes, but I think I'd have to be disobedient on this one and face the judgement later. I can't imagine life without any one of my little shreklings, they are so precious.
