Sorry, the second sentence is addressed to Christians. I messed that up. I still think most people will throw out their favorite books despite my directives.

How about both?

Try, The Case for a Creator and The Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel.

For something a little less challenging, but nonetheless intellectul, try Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz, Searching for God Knows What, or Through Painted Deserts.

Unfortunately there aren't any challenging books featuring belief in god, very early on in most of them they make a leap of faith, anything after that just doesn't follow.

Anything by Lee Strobel is fascinating to me and very fact-filled and academic. He is a former atheist and investigative reporter who set out to prove that the basic beliefs of Christianity were untrue. He did lots of academic fact finding and proved to himself that they were true. Books include A Case for Faith, A Case for Christ, and A Case for a Creator. Other former atheists turned Christian include CS Lewis and Greg Boyd.

Moncure D. Conway, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Voltair, Plato, Socrates, Ibn warraq(thats more anti Islam), and the Bible. You can pick your own books.

I read more just cant think of it now.

I also think King James bible is not accurate compared to some other versions.
