I'm not gay or anything just curious, and it's hard to find it in the Bible where it says "Christians can't be gay", but more specifiacally, Methodists.

I'm not gay.
And I don't agree with being gay.
And I'm aware that in biblical times they didn't use the word gay.
I was just verifying because I couldn't find it in the Bible.

So stop trying to put me down for asking a simple little yes or no question.

Well, I think the Methodists still say that homosexuality is 'inconsistent with Christianity' and they do not allow gay clergy. Gay people are welcome in the congregation, though, I think. There are some controversial petitions that will be addressed in 2008 that might shake things up, though.

For the poster who mentioned the King James Bible - are you aware that King James was very likely homosexual?

Edit to add: the views of the Methodist Church are not necessarily mine.

Look in the first testament. It says homosexuals will be put to death, specifically. Look in an online bible and use the search term..homosexual or something similar for the exact scripture(s), you'll never find the word "gay" in the bible.

No matter your denomination you're still learning and believing in the same bible. The bible doesn't differentiate based on your denomination.

The bible doesn't speak to our modern day religions. The bible does speak to adultery, which is any sexual behaviour outside of marriage between a man and a woman. don't even focus in on the gay or not gay, just stick to what the facts are, sex outside of marriage, as defined by God/the Bible, is wrong. kapish?

Sodom and Gomorrah, Gen 19. in the KJV. Ask your pastor for help in locating the specific verses. Homosexuality is an abomination to God. its not natural. I'm not Methodist, I'm Baptist and I know its not allowed in my doctrine, so I'm sure is not allowed in ANY Christian church.
