you can get a tailed comb from just about any beauty supply store. its a comb w/ fine bristles and a long tail. the end is pointy and its for parting. start where you want the part to start and put it on your scalp and move backward. then pull the comb up and separate the 2 sides of hair. THIS WORKS AMAZINGLY!!!
hope this helps

Get a rat tail comb. They're like 99 cents. Use the long end or the end of a sharpened pencil and draw a straight line down your head. lift the hair with the pencil straight up and put your finger in the little gap in between the two major sections and separate the hair this works perfectly for parts and braids.
