I wouldn't even put Baer in the top three even though he did pack one helluva punch. I think for the hardest hitter you cant look beyond Big George Foreman, if you don't believe me go on youtube and watch his fights against Frazier and Norton, Foreman at that time looks like he could punch holes in brick walls. I do agree with some of the other answerer's with Tyson being a big hitter, in the early days he was a concussive puncher as Spinks, Holmes and Berbick would tell you. As for other big hitters i would put Shavers, Liston, Frazier and Marciano in the reckoning.

I like your call on Teofilo Stevenson though - he's vastly underrated. I like many of the calls above. Marciano's record says he hit pretty hard, but I'm too young to have ever seen him fight. I saw all Tyson's fights though - wow. No one I've seen compares. Maybe Samuel Peter? He's got a huge punch. Earnie Shavers and George Foreman are also contenders in this discussion. There are some great hitters in the lower weight classes now too... I love the way Hatton hits. He's all power. Kostya has a great right hand too - ask Judah! LOL

Hardest Hitter? I don't know Mike Tyson in his prime that agressive attitude. He was an animal in the 90s.

Foreman, Tyson, Louis, Marciano, Ali had deceptive power as most of his shots were short powerful ones.
