Most importantly, be yourself! Second, don't settle for anything less than what you want.
Unfortunately you usually find her when you're not expecting it. I can't give you advice for where to find her or really how, but I know where not to look for her: bars, parties, clubs, places where everyone is drinking and on the prowl. Many girls go to those places either looking for a one-nighter, to have a night out with friends, or blindly seeking some knight in shining armour (where they usually get fondled by some drunk and have their feelings hurt).
Talk with friends, see if anyone knows a girl who might share your interests or they (knowing you well) think you would like. It doesn't always work out, but it's a way to get out there and see for yourself what you want. If you find it, be attentive to her, listen to what she says, tell her what you want.

these kind of things are difficult to plan out, unfortunately
my advice is: hang out with a lot of chicks (make friends first), and be sure to choose a girl who is a bit outgoing but shy at the same time. A girl like that will probably be more loyal than the type of chick who goes around in trashy clothes bad mouthing people all the time.
good places to meet cool girls: at school, library, volunteering, sports, church (or place of worship), etc.

How do I get a good boyfriend, I am done for a while with all this dating stuff, online, and other social meetings its ridiculous, hun, sometimes you need to give your mind, emotion, heart a rest, its all good it all pass in time. Rest easy I feel better not having the stress of it all and focus on me and you can focus on you and expand your self as a man

Instinct will tell you who has a good head on her shoulder.
Stay away from self absorbed, bleach blonde, superficial twits. You can spot them a mile away. They're just ho's looking for a good time with rich men.
