If the first ressurection occurs after the great tribulation, then how could their be a previous ressurection?
Revelations 20: 4-6

Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.

Its important to hold the right view, because if Christians are around during the anti-christ, we will not be allowed to get the mark of the beast.

The first resurrection in the context, is referring to the saints killed during the great tribulation. Therefore this other ressurection you pre-trib believe doesn't exist.

A rapture is a ressurection.. And besides where in the bible does it say anything about a pre- trib rapture.. Like nowhere. And yet most churches teach this today.

Nobody at that time knew the day or hour. How about the two witnesses that are ressurected after the 3 1/2 years. Is their a seperate ressurection for them too?

Well, there is argument for both sides. Yet, I hold a pre-trib/ mid-trib view. The Bible says no one knows the day or the hour. However, we also know that the Temple Mt. must be set in place. We await the arrival of the anitchrist and the abomination of desolation before the final return of Christ. Yet, the Bible implores us to be ready. It says it will be unexpected. The dead in Christ will rise first and then we will be taken up with them in heaven. Just in case though, every Christian should resolve never to deny Christ especially in the face of death. I remember Rachel, the girl who died in Columbine. She did not renounce God even at gunpoint. That this happened to a young girl and in this country was unimaginable, yet, it happened.
As people move further and further away from Christ and biblical teachings, the idea of the mark of the beast or an antichrist is unthinkable. People will perish because they lack knowledge. I've seen this in my own family. My brother-in-law is an army soldier/Captain. We've tried to explain end-time prophecy to him. He was even hooked on the Left-Behind Series and read every single book. Yet, the idea of mark/ chip implant is almost abstract to him. He says that if the army made him get a chip implant, that he would do it. It boggles my mind. Especially after all that he knows. He was not brought up in the church, but he has some knowledge. I will continue to pray for Him.

Not quite getting your point here... you've used a verse from the book of Revelation that talks about Christ's 1000 year reign which is not the same as the great tribulation. The initial rapture (what I think you mean as the "first resurrection") comes before the great tribulation which is a 7 year period (3 years of false peace and 3 years of hell on earth). The events in Rev. 20:4-6 occur after Armageddon. Why not take some time and read Revelation in its entirety then ask your question. I think you'll find the answer you seek if you'll just read the book rather than take a quote out of context. God bless...

I don't believe that the first Resurrection occurs after the tribulation because of the scripture you used and also from the scripture about the Bride of Christ, which takes place before the tribulation. The bride of Christ is the Church. I believe there are three Resurrections. The Church, The People who are martyred during the tribulation, and the People who are born and die during the thousand year reign.
Personally I believe that the first group will not be here to witness the second half of the Antichrist's rule, because by then the Holy Spirit has been removed in order that the rest of prophesy can be fulfilled. As long as the Holy Spirit is in the world living in His people, Satan can not have full dominance to deceive the people.

I agree, it is important to hold the right view.

My attempt at explanation is that "This is the first resurrection" means "this is the first resurrection of the remnant of the nation of Israel." This really sounds like grasping at straws, but Revelation is speaking to and about the Jews, in contrast to Paul's epistles to the church of today, the Body of Christ.

Christians will be taken in what we call the rapture, described in 1 Thess 4:15-17, 1 Cor. chap 15:51-54, and many other places. "Rapture" means "caught up", and Scripture describes it as being caught up to meet the Lord in the air, WITH deceased Christians, to go to Heaven. This is like Christ pulling His ambassodors out of the danger zone before war breaks out - "war" being the tribulation, God's judgement on a sinful earth.

The true second coming of Christ to earth, in which He actually stands upon the earth, in power and glory, is the end of the tribulation, and is what Revelation 20:4-6 describes.

There are a lot of scriptural reasons (many more than can be given here) that the rapture and the coming of Christ to reign on earth are separate events, and there are lots of websites out there devoted to explaining it. But one quick and easy one is the unpredictibilty of Christ's coming for Christians, and the predictability of Christs return to rule as King. Christ is coming "like a thief in the night" and Paul tells Christians to expect it at any time - indeed, the first-century Christians thought it would happen in their lifetime.

But Christ told the Jews, on the other hand, to watch for the "signs" of His coming and to be expecting it. And since He comes at the end of the seven-year tribulation, it will be easy to estimate His arrival, even if one doesn't know the exact DAY the tribulation started. Why would we need to be ready every day for His possible return, if we knew He couldn't come till after the tribulation?

Obviously, you're familiar enough with the Bible that you're not making Rev. 20's "first resurrection" all encompassing. Christ raised people from the dead, and then raised from the dead Himself, and a number of believers resurrected at the same time and were seen in Jerusalem. Later His disciples resurrected people. And even during the tribulation God's two witness, after finally being killed in front of the whole world, will be resurrected. So clearly, "this is the first resurrection" means "the first of this kind" or "the first in this particular series."

I was once pre trib, till talking with an overly mature christian who gave me plenty of perception into publish trib--however now I am not anything...I don't do not forget myself pre or publish and definately now not mid. I simply desire and pray the Lord comes SOON!!!!! My pastor believes in pre trib and could be very at ease in believing that. I can comprehend, from scripture why the rapture could take location earlier than- as Revelation three:10 says "He has now not destined us for wrath" --after which in one million Thess four it says this as good....And I feel approximately Noah, and the way the Lord "spared" Him from the destruction of the sector. So whether it is publish trib, the Lord might make all of His sheep "at ease and trustworthy" if we're to head via the Great Trib--or He might take us previously, that's what I used to relatively lean in the direction of---I move backward and forward- however to be sincere, I do lean in the direction of pre trib simplest considering of what I have studied...however Revelations does get me considering extra approximately it whilst I come throughout specific scriptures.

Think about this; at the time of Jesus Gods chosen decided that Jesus wasn't the Messiah sent by God and they, though they say the Romans did the deed, participated in the martyring of Jesus. Today Christians are in the same shoes in a very important way. Would you accept the return if it didn't happen according to your churches or your own interpretation of the bible? Of course you won't. Who are those who will reign with Christ? This is one you want to get dead on or you will be dead on that day, which is today, our time.

What's your question???

I don't like the thought of going through the tribulation but it's only logical to assume that the rapture takes place first because the Bible talks about the Holy Spirit being with drawn from the earth... if the Holy Spirit is taken away then no one, not even Christians have hope of survival.

I'm mid or post trib so I'd like to see these answers. I think it's important because if Christians are around, and not "raptured" like they thought, they sure will be a dissolusioned bunch. Just reading the way Jesus lays it out in Matthew seems to me like we'll be around for all the fashizit to hit the fan, if you know what I'm saying.

The new testament talks about the general resurrection, this is the resurrection of both the righteous, and the unrighteous.
There was a population explosion in Noahs time, there was a population explosion at the beginning or before the first century A.D., and the baby boomers of our time. I call this the general resurrection. Noah's flood of descendants.

I'm a pre-triber myself, but it's foolish to debate the issue. God knows when the rapture will occur and that's all that matters. Belief in pre- or post-trib doesn't dictate when you go. And if I'm wrong, I will learn to live without the mark.
