If you are undergoing a mental health therapy (for things like depression, shyness, social anxiety and other fairly common issues), would you tell the truth if you were to apply for a Secret Clearance for government contractor job? If you don't tell, will they find out anyway?

Can I expect to be interviewed by a government investigator or a government hired mental health professional during the investigation that will lead to the the decision about my application?

I told the truth, and I do hope that I did the right thing even though I need a job, and when it comes to matter of employment many times you don't have choice unless you are a smooth talking and good people person.

Well, how could they find out if I didn't tell them and I've not signed the waiver not that it matters since I've already told them and signed the waiver. But let me know how they could find out.

It's always best to tell the truth. And yes, they will find out sooner or later anyway. You did the right thing. Even smooth talkers get caught.

Tell the truth because the government will have you get a medical clearance too which involves blood tests. Many people are on psychoparmacuticals, so just be honest.

I don't believe that they have any right to ask for your medical records, other than that there is no way they can find out. It really is none of their business and some employers frown upon mental issues.

It's always best to tell the truth.

If they do reject you, remember the Groucho Marx quote that says something like. I'd never join a group that would have me as a member.
