That sounds about right...my 2 ex's were too smart for their own good but not very nice or good-spirited. I am not an unintelligent person, myself. The man I am dating now is pretty smart but downplays it a bit...very humble and sweet. I would go for someone based not on how well they can impress Mensa members, but how they impress ME...which is by being good-hearted and loving. Also, although I am very booksmart and can hold a lively conversation, I do some pretty off the wall things - yesterday I was telling my boyfriend there was no way it would rain because it was too cold. He aked if I watched the news, which he knows I NEVER do, and I said so. He laughed and said he was never listening to my weather report again...lol. The MOST funny thing about this is that it started RAINING five minutes later! I have fun and he has fun with me...we joke around a lot and it has nothing to do with how "intelligent" either of us is. He is not as formally educated as I am or my ex's, but I think he is smart in the ways of life and I love him for his good heart and he loves me for mine. There really needs to be a less superficial basis for having a relationship than whether someone is "smart" ("good looking", "wealthy", etc.) enough for you. If your girlfriend has inner beauty, I say cherish her. If you don't you will hurt someone who doesn't deserve it and probably end up with a woman who is "smart" enough to mess you over in the worst ways.

A woman can be intelligent but not caring, loving and can be the biggest *****. Intelligence is not all of the relationship. Look into the future. Will she be there for you when you are sick? depressed? Someone who will be by your side when things are not going well? Will she take care of you if, let's just say, you had a stroke and were paralysed? Would she hold your hand while walking in the snow or giving you kisses when she misses you? Intelligence can only go so far and doesn't mean that the intelligent woman will do all the above. Stick with her.

What's wrong with both? It sounds like you are not 100% into the relationship and need more. Your communication needs will likely be higher than hers and you may find her boring after a while. Kindness is always essential.

It takes a smart person to know true kindness from obsequiousness. Put my vote in for intelligence.

it does not sound like it will last, unless you teach her, and she's willing to learn. Patience is the key word here. Now to answer your question. It's almost impossible to answer that question. Both are necessary. I'm going with intelligence.

Kindness outweighs intelligence..When we die, it is the kind acts that will matter, and how we will be judged..

I think kindness wins definitely... what if she was really smart but treated you like crap?
