I'm fifteen and weigh about 83 pounds or so, with a height of 5'0". I am trying to recover from what seems to have been anorexia. I have been told to eat more, but when I do, I'm proud and then feel REALLY guilty and end up getting all depressed about eating. For dinner, I had a sandwich (IronKids bread) with okra in it and a glass of skim milk. There was already calcium in the bread, so I keep thinking that I should've drank water instead of milk. What do you think? Should I feel bad? Also, I'll probably end up going to bed in about an hour after finishing my homework; should I feel bad about not waiting two hours after dinner to go to bed?

There is only one reason which I've found to support humans drinking cow's milk. We have grown up hearing that it's good for us and that we've grown accustomed to the taste and texture. Otherwise there is absolutely no nutrition that can not be obtained elsewhere, minus the negatives. Calcium seems to be the major claim for milk. It can be found elsewhere in green vegetables, almonds, and many other sources. Why we continue to drink cow's milk laced with growth hormones, antibiotics, and who knows what else is beyond me.

Since I've given up drinking milk about 5 years ago my health has greatly improved. Fewer allergy problems, asthma and breathing problems greatly reduced, I'm sleeping better, and I have more energy.

Do some research online and decide for yourself.

Hopefully this will help more than it hurts because that is my intention of saying it: Nobody gives a good damn whether you eat, dont eat, sleep, dont sleep or whether you even exist let alone do your homework at a certain hour. So, for heavens sake why in the world would you feel bad about any of the things you just mentioned above?

Dont look for a hug or an it's okay from someone like it is, because it isnt. IT IS NOT OKAY TO ACT OR THINK LIKE THIS!
It is ridiculous behavior and you either do or do not suffer from anorexia and if you do then yahoo answers is the last place you need to be. You need to be in a treatment facility where you can get proper assistance for your mental disorder. And yes it is a mental disorder, not some fluffy politically correct label people like to throw around to make it sound like it isnt. The bottom line is this. Aside from perhaps some immediate relatives and if you're lucky a handful of companions you will encounter in your life, everyone else is full of @%$# and really couldnt care less when it comes down to it whether you live today and die tomorrow. They'll all talk a good game and I'll probably get berated for posting this, but those same hypocritical "there there" people are never anywhere to be found when actually lifting a finger to help somebody is required, they'd just rather point their finger and feel good about themselves because they didnt hurt your feelings.

Shut up and eat like human beings are meant to eat or realize you have a problem and seek treatment. This may be tough love but trust when it comes down to it in the real world you can only count on yourself to survive and to rely on others is a weakness that if exploited could lead to your undoing. Always be in control, even when things are out of control. Get Well

No my dear you shouldn't feel bad. Skim milk is excellent for you, and you can never get enough calcium. If you have experienced anorexia, you body may have been deprived of the appropriate nutrition, so drinking milk for supper was excellent. It is important to have calcium in our diets to prevent bone problems when we're older. And its okay to go to bed before two hours. You are taking steps in the right direction. Sometimes when I am feeling guilty or angry, to prevent my self from driving myself nuts I try to observe my thoughts and feelings like an audience would watch a play. I recognize them and then name the kind of thought it was "guilty" or "angry" etc... I try to do this rather than thinking the thought and therefore experiencing it and its side effects like the people in the play. Keep up the good work!

No do not feel bad, your body needs its nutrients, and there is no problem with going straight to bed. You only need to wait a little while from a LARGE meal to go swimming.
I hope you feel better about yourself, keep the good work up

You should not feel bad AT ALL.
There are more nutrients in milk than just calcium.

Talk to your parents or school counselor about this. You aren't over your eating disorder and need someone to talk to who can help you with it.
Hang in there, OK?

No, you shouldn't feel bad. Your body is still growing and you NEED to drink milk (or get calcium from another source).

And there's a real nice plus side to drinking milk...since it's so good for your teeth, you must hold it in your mouth for a while whenever you drink it...Lol
