a specific example are a set of "half brackets" . They look like the bottom half of square brackets and are found in many places. An example is Isaiah 41:22 , found around the text "your idols" .

The New International Verizon shall not be any different from any other Bible. Perhaps the wording could be complex to you. But the symbols you spoke of needs to be investigated, because the Bible you have may not be well recorded.

It would be best for your own knowledge to find another Bible that is more understandable and a concordance that can help you as well. The most powerful and loving way of knowing is to pray to the Holy Spirit to help you know of God's word.

Although, I didn't quite understand your question, but I am sure your heart meant well to ask. God Bless and Good Luck.

It means that the words are not a direct translation from the original, and they are an interpretive decision. Meaning that they're "added" to make sense of the original -- or, you could say, to make clear the interpretive decision the translators made.
