My boyfriend, future fiance, says that he wants to help me pay off my debt. The debt that I have incurred has been from previous relationships and I just don't feel that that is fair. Do I let him do this, guiltfree or do I put up a fight. I understand in a sense what he is saying, because he says that we are building a partnership but it just makes me feel guilty...????

Don't feel guilty. He's just an awesome, , handsome, great guy who wants to do whatever he can to make his partnership with you a successful one. I'll bet right now he's thinkin' about ways to make you happy, ways to make you smile. As a matter of fact, there's probably not a minute that goes by in the day when he's not thinking about you!

The real question, is do you want to help him in his finacial situation also...as a partnership, he'll need you to be financially stable to invest in other endevours later on.....the house, the car, the pool, ect. How far do you see going with this man? If you have doubts about your relationship then don't allow it. But if its all a-go then sit down and discuss it thoroughly and come to a contract agreement with him...love is love....but marriage and engagement is a business...remember that!

I think its very sweet. It's amazing that he wants to help, a lot of guys wouldn't. Well, maybe you should make sure he really wants to do this and if he does, well, ask him to charge you interest or don't let him handle it all by himself or anything. Even him helping a little bit shouldn't be too guilty and maybe he just wants to help you out before you get married so you guys can live without having to worry about it? Just talk to him about it. :-)

You need to sit down and talk to him about your feelings on this.
Good Luck
