AN OLD WIVES TALE IS TO USE MAYONNAISE AND LET IT STAY ON YOUR HAIR FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR WITH A PLASTIC BAG. HOWEVER THE NEXT BEST THING IS QUEEN HELENE'S CHOLESTEROL THAT YOU CAN FIND AT ANY BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE. USE IT THE SAME WAY.

I feel like the poster girl for Biolage. I've recommended this to everyone I know, and to everyone that is on this website asking about hair care products. Biolage shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner. If used in the right amounts, your hair won't look oily. It will be shiny, soft, and very healthy. Make sure to work the leave-in conditioner in the length of your hair first. Only put a little bit towards your scalp. Not ON the scalp...just work it towards your scalp. Only use less than a dime-sized amount in the palm of your hand. A little bit goes a long way. Here, in the salon where I get my hair cut/styled, that leave-in conditioner costs about $14.00...that bottle, when used in tiny amounts, will last forever. The shampoo and conditioner are not quite as expensive, but again, a little bit goes a long way. Feel free to wash your hair more than once, if needed, but take it easy on the conditioner that you rinse in the shower. Hope this helps.

Both Harris and Chavez also suggest supplementing your store-bought products with all-natural treatments of vegetable oil. Harris' choice is safflower while Chavez prefers olive oil.

In either case, they say simply put a few drops of the oil in the palm of your hand, rub until skin "glistens," then starting at the bottom and working upwards, run your fingers through your hair.

"You can do this after you dry your hair, or between washings -- when you come in from the cold or anytime your hair looks very dry -- it really works," says Harris.

"Through the years clients told me over and over that the shampoo that just did wonders for their hair in New York City, didn't do the same thing when they traveled to Los Angeles or Florida or even Europe," says Craig.

Ultimately, he figured out why: "It wasn't the hair that was changing, it was the water," he says. More specifically, it's mineral content. Ranging from "soft," which had very few dissolved minerals such as calcium , to "hard," which had some, to "very hard," which was mineral-heavy, the differences, says Craig, were enough to increase or even cause a number of hair problems including static electricity, lack of body, and even dry, coarse, and brittle hair.

His solution: A travel kit of hair shampoos designed to work optimally according to the three basic water types -- and a free package of test strips to help you figure out which one to use where!

"You would be amazed at the difference that pairing your shampoo to your water type can make in terms of how your hair behaves particularly in winter," says Craig.

Joho is right.Mayonaise will straighten out your problem.I did this years ago when "perms"were in for guys in the late 70's-80's.I went from the disco explosion look, to the straight hair metal rocker after a half jar of Helmans.Let it sit in for a couple hours, wrapped in a towel, then use a baby shampoo wash and rinse. That will get rid of the slick oiler look after a couple of rinses.Hey,mayonaise is made from eggs (protein)..what could it hurt?

Don't spend alot of money on nonsense products........get your conditioner bottle out of the shower, put it on your dry hair......comb it through.....wrap a plastic bag tightly around your hair line, so not to expose the hair........clip it, and leave it. The longer the better!!
The heat from your scalp along with the plastic with retain alot of heat......Heat and conditioner work miracles.
(Ps) You won't smell like mayo, I promise!!
