I believe in Jesus because I have seen him at work in my life. I've seen him meet my needs, answers my prayers, give me strength when i needed it.
His message of forgiveness, not his miracles, is what attracts me to him. I believe in Jesus because he fits, exactly, the description/prophecy of the redeemer as described in the old testament.

If you want some good reading, besides the Bible, of course, try

The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus, by Lee Strobel, an ex-investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune

or

Blue Like Jazz : Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality, by Donald Miller

The first is an intellectual, researched based investigation into the person of Jesus, the second is one man's thoughts and experiences in discovering that same Jesus.

Not at all! I believe he esxisted not as Gods son but as a prophet. As for performing miracles? Well who really knows. sometimes these stories get stretched out of proportion.
By the claptrap from some of these travelling modern day preachers they would have you believing in Miracles being performed by them, people walking, suddenly seeing for the first time etc. All bullshit! it has been shown that many are stooges and did it for money. rember the Tammy and Whoever Show that finally got busted for fraud and embezelment?

Not that this was so in the times of Jesus nescessary but none of it can really be proven it is all hand me downs and if you ever played Chinese Whispers you know how the story changes from one to another. None of what was being taught was harmful and it made a lot of people happy so Good for Him.

Why do I believe in Jesus? That's a good question. The most accurate answer is this: When I was young, I was sent to church and Christian school (I still attend my Christian school) and I was told that Jesus was our Savior and I just believed. As I grew older however, I began to study prophecy and theology, especially the works of Lee Strobel (brilliant man) and I really got a practical reason for believing in Jesus. "The Case For Christ" really does make a convincing case for Christ.

Jesus ministry was not about what he did. But who he was. I believe in Jesus because of His Death, His Burial and His Resurrection. However, His Resurrection was the crowning proof that Salvation had been given. Because, God's Grace, Love and Mercy, walked through the gates of Hell, faced a defeated death, then came forth from that "barrowed" thomb, just as he said he would.

I am sorry if you never have had a personal relationship with Him...I am sorry if you have never had the pleasure of basking in the presence of the Holy Spirit...It has nothing to do with the miracles that He has done....but everything to do with knowing Him personally. He says if you truly seek Him, He will reveal Himself....I hope you seek Him and then you will know....Be Blessed.

Cuz I can't love somebody I don't believe is real.

I also love Lee Strobel's book "A Case for Christ". I just with he'd write another book, "A Case for Catholicism" so all my friends would get off my back about being the "right" kind of Christian.

I believe in Jesus because he loved me so much that he died on the cross for my sins and the sins of the whole world.
He rose from the dead so that I could have eternal life!

I beleive he existed, he was born, he grew up, and probably died somewhere other than on a cross (but noone knows where) but thats all he did.

As for why - things like being raised from the dead, turning water into wine, walking on water - well those are things that are physically impossible for any human to do.

since there are NO other documented cases of any other humans ever doing them, then the chances are high that Jesus didnt do them either.

I so thats why I do not beleive that he was god or the son of any god.

choice

I used to be a big critic
but I learned from experience,
Jesus is more comforting than Darwin

comfort and encouragement and strength in hard times,
confidence and peace in good times,
courage to help others
optimism unconditional sense of joy, and no fear of death

I'm glad I made that choice. I used to be a pessimistic mess.
The more I learned and appreciated Jesus the better off I am. Thanks so much !!!
