I am 19 and have smoked probably about 40 cigarettes in my whole life, which is two packs i think. Im not addicted, so i thought i shoudl quit while i was ahead, so i ended up quitting a few weeks ago. i was just wondering if by smoking these cigarettes, even as small amount as it is, could i possibly have lung cancer? the only thing that is leading me to believe this is my paranoia.
also is there anything i can do to help heal my lungs, (drinking water?) my father has smoked unfiltered cigarettes for over 20 years and does not have cancer so im hoping that uit would take more than 40 for me to develop cancer.

and please ddot write an answer explaining the danger or smoking and how i should quit, because im aware of the danger and i have quit.

Relax...as soon as you stopped your body started "fixing itself". Studies have shown that even "hard core" 20 year smokers will benifit from quitting (results will be seen within a week). 40 smokes? Honey, that ain't nothing. Take some vitamin C to help with your immune system; but other than that, its no biggie.

I know a guy that died from lung cancer and never smoked a cigarette in his life. Anything is possible. You're lungs heal themselves over time. if your father quit smoking today, his lungs would be back to their normal form in 10 years! Amazing, i know.

It would be extremely unlikely that you would get lung cancer form 40 cigarettes. 90 % of people who die of lung cancer smoked. Their for you don't have to smoke to get lung cancer. People actually have a higher rate of lung cancer from second hand smoke, well that is if they are around it for a number of years.

lung cancer is from smoking for several years. you have nothing to worry about as long as you stop while your ahead. it actually takes a few years or smoking everyday to cause lung scarring that leads to shortness of breath and tar build up. you really don't need to be concerned.

Wow, yeah.
Two packs and you're dead.

It takes 20+ years to develop cancer for some people.
