well, i know about the pkk, and that kurdish people want self determination. don't they want kurdistan, which takes the eastern part of turkey, which is important for turkey's economy? somebody told me that autonomy will probably never happen just because it is impractical.

all the information i get from searches in english is always pro-kurdish. they make kurds the absolute victims, but never explain the other side of the argument. it is so american to side with "the underdog" psh. they go around saying that's what they are doing when in fact they just wanna do what suits them best. they did it to latin america too. america can be mean.

Turkish people doesn't really like the kurds.. kurds usually cause trouble...try to be a mafia, steal, or disturb the peace, I'm not saying all the kurds are bad but most of them doesnt have respect. They are also getting more and more populated every year since they have bunch of kids...Turkish government tried to protect them by letting them live in Turkey but now they are trying to form their own kurdish republic in Turkey.. which will never happen.

Kurds in Turkey are Turks' relatives. Because almost all people have a Kurdish relative. The problem is Kurds think that Eastern Turkey has been neglected by the state for decades which has some truth in it. Kurds have a feodal culture which makes it hard to make any reforms, most families used to not let the children go to schools. And also the lands are mountaineous which makes transportation difficult. Moreover some countries (Russians, Armenians and some European ones) that are against Turkey used some Kurds to provoke ethnic conflicts. Not many Kurds support PKK (when compared to their population) How do I know? I work in a school and half of my students are Kurdish. And NO :) we don't kill each other!! Terrorists do that!

A total of 20 million people, 12 million of which lives in Turkey. But many are half Turkish/half Kurdish. We are like "finger and nail", too painful to separate although Kurdish nationalism is being provoked by western imperialist countries since the last 20 years mainly. It is true that they suffered under short (3 years) fascist military take over of 1980, but they do not consider Turks also suffered from that if not as much.

I used to hate from Kurds as a Turk until I met one..All Kurds aren't bad people. But yeah we have PKK problem..

Yeah they want our east part for their Kurdistan dream but Turkey won't let it. Now I think they are tring to do it in Iraq. And Turkey hasn't a Iraq politica yet..I don't know what will happen but a Kurdistan in Turkey is just a dream for Kurds now.

Turks and Kurds live together as they have for some time in Turkey, They immigrated to Turkey from Iraq, Iran , Suriye and etc or some was born on the lands.

As a Turk , I don't like them , its because Thy have been terrorizing our people ( women kids and all , killin raping torturing , threatening ) at the southeast of the country. They say its for freedom and they claim its their lands. But how can you claim land and freedom by killing innocent people, murdering and raping people.

They always did this, their freedom mentally consist of vicious mean savageness ways. So I ask you guys Who can We trust or consider to "like" these people when they killed bombed and attacked around 50.000 or more innocent human being ?

Just think What if the Mexicans livin in the USA did this to claim land? Or the Indians living in the UK did such a thing to claim land and freedom???

Hi Somepeople,

If I say, Turkish and Kurdish peoples are friends and brothers. We have just only PKK problem.
As you know, In Saddam time, we protected lots of Kurdish people and Turkish Government gave also Diplomatic Passport to Barzani and Talabani (as you know he is President of Irak)

King Regards,
Tanju

I've had lots of Kurdish friends and loved them dearly have not met a bad one yet so I like them,
What I don't like is the PKK and the fanatic Kurds but I don't like anyone being fanatic(no matter what their nationality is) anyhow, so they are good and brought Turkey more colourfulness...

Screw politics. I like Kurds and their food, music, their accent when speaking Turkish and much more things. I had many Kurdish friends in Turkey (I live in Turkey) and had no problems all were smart and funny people. That's all.
