I got pulled over by a cop with a junior license comming home from work tonight. He gave me a warning and did not ticket me. I am 16 and will be turning 17 in 2 months. In New York, you are elegable for a senior license at 17 if you have taken driver's ed. I am eligeable to get my senior license because I have taken driver's ed.

My question is am I still able to get my senior license? I didn't get a ticket so I think I am.

Just wondering.

You didn't get a ticket, so nothing was reported to the DMV, plus if you were driving home from work you can drive after nine with a form from the DMV signed by your boss with your schedule on it. The only time the DMV will know you got pulled over is if you're issued a ticket and are found/plea guilty. You can get your class D license.

Police officers normally evaluate traffic case on an individual bases before before dropping the hammer. In many municipalities night driving on a junior license when returning from work or school is permitted.

Consider that you got a break, think about getting a left for the next two months. As cousin Uncle Vinny would say, "FORGET ABOUT IT"

Well, I have no clue, here in Texas, at 16, you get the same license I have. Only difference is that your's would be sideways since you are under 21.

Interesting to see they are doing something different up your way.

I don't know the laws in New York, but you are right... the key is, you did not get a ticket, just a verbal warning... so you should have no problems...

Yes. A warning is not a citation.
