you will if your just working your slow twitch muscle fibers. according to muscle & fitnesses soviate hotline you must alternate & work both your slow twitch muscle fibers & your fast twitch muscle fibers. I've tried the alternations & although i put on @ least 20lbs of lean muscle mass my speed increased considerably over a 3 month period. shadowbox as fast as you can right after your last set 4 upperbody. 3 more sets 60 seconds each & jumping or sprinting 4 lowerbody 3 sets. try this & you'll b pleasantly suprised w/ how fast you will become in a very short period of time.

It not unheard of...you get big bulky muscles that are always tight from the lifting...Your reaction times are going to slow some cause of the mass...Make sure you do ALOT of stretching before and after the workouts to relieve some of the tightness issues.
