You can wash it, just don't do it everyday... every other day or so is best... use shampoos that don't strip... use the ones that are specifically for colored hair... I hope that is helpful for you...

I color my hair myself and I have absolutlely no problem washing after I color. The chemical reaction has already taken place so there is no danger of fading. On the subject of fading, if you have a high chlorine content in your water Like I do) I recommend a shower filter. I also use a pH neutralizer from Wella called Regenal.

The key is to use a good shampoo, if you can't afford the salon stuff, try John Frieda's Brunette shampoo. You can get it at walmart, also, like they said, wash every other day, w/ darker hair, you can do this w/ out it looking as oily.

Just make sure that you don't use a harsh shampoo that will strip some of the color out. A harsh shampoo will strip the color out no matter how long you wait to shampoo it. With a good shampoo you can shampoo your hair whenever you want.

It is okay to wash it the next day. The trick is not to wash it every day. When you wash it, condition it.

DEFINITELY NOT BEFORE 24 HOURS HAS PASSED AND UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO, PROBABLY WAIT 48 HOURS AFTER COLORING JUST TO BE SAFE.
