What will happen if I take my belly button piercing out?

I've had it pierced for 8 years and I just don't want it anymore. Will there alway be a hole or will it close up after a while? I'm figuring there will be a nice scar there.

you will have a sacr but it will eventually heal up it is going to take a while though

It should grow back together, but you are right..the scar will be there. But at least it is in a place that is less noticable. I had to take my ring out for surgery once and the hole grew together in less than 24 hours. But, I got it pierced again. I love it.
