If you suffer from heartburn or have suffered from it can you tell me what you do to alleviate the suffering? What is the cause of heartburn, suffered long time, its cures ect, any natural cures and relief?

I have suffered from heartburn for a long time, aka GERD. Over the counters do not work for me! I have taken a lot of different prescribed drugs, but the one that works the best for me is aciphex. Things that will help you are to stay away from acidic food before bed, do not eat before going to sleep. Prop your pillow up at night so your head is in the air. The biggest thing is find out what type of foods are causing you discomfort and then stay away from them...

For me raising the bed 6Inches helps and taking Prilosec OTC helps. I've suffered from heartburn for 10 year's and Prilosec OTC is the best thing that has helped. I've tried them all. The prescribed medication's and all the OTC one's and the Prilosec OTC one is the best one that works for me! It doesn't cure hearburn but it helps.

I usually only get heartburn when I eat PB&J sandwich's and Cheese Doritos, Kinda weird!

Go to WalMart and buy Prilosec OTC...I take one every morning, and do not get heartbun. Or see the doctor for a prescription for Nexium...or something it. Prilosec OTC works great, So does Zantac 150.

No not any more now that my doctor put me on medication. Just avoid hot, spicy, and acidy foods. They kick up the stomach acids, thus acid and throwing up.
