Alright, well I started using proactiv and my skin is kind of dry, but not really. It just feels all awkward and stuff. I use proactiv every night and in the morning after i take a shower i put lotion on my face. Anyways, proactiv works, but it makes my skin feel weird. Anyone know what I should do? Have you been in this situation before w/ proactiv?

It's gonna peel, burn and itch for about a week. There are mass levels of benzoly peroxide (3.5% = A LOT) and will create dryness.

After a year of using with great results, I still sometimes get dry skin.

Exfoliate with a small brush or glove and apply a light, oil-free moisturizer.
You might have started out to fast. I was only allowed to use it once daily for the first week.
Now, sometimes I use it three times daily & I'm fine.

Yeah, it takes time for your skin to adjust to the new product. I suggest that you cut back to using it once per day if the discomfort becomes more of a problem or if your face starts to get really dry and flaky. By the way, whatever kind of lotion you are using, make sure it is oil free, otherwise you will keep breaking out and your skin will keep getting dry. I use Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel (not the lotion). It's worked great for me for years. :o)

It's common with all the drying agents in the solution. Just use lotion.

Give it time. Your skin may actually get slightly worse before it gets better.
