If you know someone with a big enough and/or air conditioned house, ask them if you could hold the wedding there. The use of their home could be their wedding gift to you and your husband.

If there is an Elk's Lodge or the like in your town, consider having the wedding and reception there. They usually have the buildings air conditioned and are big enough to hold 100 people or so. Or if you have the wedding outside, you can put up large canopies to shield everyone from the sun which will make it a lot cooler and everyone will still be able to feel the wind, and then you can get large outdoor fans as well.

What about somewhere scenic in Arkansas like in Mount Magazine or something. There is a brand new lodge (huge) on top of the mountain and its beautiful up there. You could have it outside, or have it inside overlooking the tallest point in Arkansas.

Where are planning on having the reception? Many are opting to have the wedding & reception all in the same place.

You could have the ceremony at a large B&B, farm, ranch, winery, museum, someone's house, even restaurant's have rooms for this.

Good luck!

As far as I can tell we're alike.. I'm getting married in May, and I'm in Oklahoma, I don't want to get married in a church either, and you never know about Oklahoma weather . I looked online for a couple of chapels for you to check out.. I hope it helps. When you decide on a chapel, or anywhere else, make sure you look at their contract, CAREFULLY! I don't know what city you live in or are close by.. I really hope this helps.

The best thing for me to tell you, is to look in the phone book and look for a wedding planner.. he/she could help you out with different places and ideas.

First of all, why have your wedding at your school? second you should have it in the church you used to go to when you were as a kid, it adds to the ammount of memories that you will have there and give you something to tell you kids some day.(and give you something to talk them into going to church)

You and your fiance needs to really talk it over about investing in getting fans to put into wherever the ceromony is.
