from looking at this photo this is an orbital. if so then i recommend a tattoo or piercing store. they can do the right measurements to put on the right piece of jewelry. i have an orbital myself and you need to get the measurements right to make sure the ring fits in correctly, otherwise you will be in a lot of pain. this option is not available at stores in the mall. if you are looking for just a cartilage piercing with a regular straight post earring then the stores at the mall are fine. if you are looking for gauged jewelry then you need to go to a tattoo/piercing place. either way, when the piercing is done keep it clean to prevent infections.

Fine, it's a lower cartilage piercing. The lower you go into the cartilage and closer to the lobes the more it will hurt because of the difference between hard cartilage and softer lobes. Be warned that mixing strengths can cause odd reactions for the position. It looks cool though, kind of close to a rook so if you have one of those becareful not to get the rings hooked together.
Have it done at a shop. A hollow needle cleans out all the broken cartilage and the gun only pushes it aside which can cause massive infection. Go to a proper shop whree they can explain the process to you. The healing time is cut in about half with a needle for anything. Much safer no matter what you do. Home piercings and malls aren't safe!

Never get a piercing done at a mall or anywhere other than a reputable piercing parlor/tattoo shop.
With a qualified piercer, they will know that it is much safer and cleaner to use a needle instead of a gun (guns cannot be thoroughly cleaned) and it is less trauma to the ear or body part in question. Thus, the healing time is better and less chance for infection.
Go to a parlor and pay extra for your health and well being.

I wouldn't get it done at a mall, because they use piercing guns that force jewelry through the cartilage. This causes trauma to the tissue. An experienced piercer using a needle would be the best option, because they can place the piercing perfectly and perform it so that not a lot of damage is done. The piercing will heal much faster and be less painful.

Ah that's an easy one! I'd go to a piercer over some chick at the local hairdresser or whatever because they're not hairdressers who also pierce. Their piercers who only pierce.
Because it's cartilage it'll take longer to heal, around 6 months or so, but it's not tricky at all. Go wherever you feel most comfortable but don't let em use a gun. Gun piercing on cartilage = bad coz it'll shatter the stuff. Not fun. If they use a needle all will be well young jedi :)

The picture is small but it looks like a lower helix orbital. You would have to get this done at a piercing studio because guns are awful and dangerous.
Check out bmezine.com for a pic gallery and tribalectic.com for advice and shop recommendations.

it is purely a piercing, won't be able to you wait till your sixteen? you will be able to wreck you mom and dad thoughts in case you bypass in the back of their backs. No i would not harm. there is greater of of project of your ears getting contaminated in case you get it pierced with a gun, it is optimal to get it executed with a needle (frightening i be attentive to) besides the undeniable fact that it fairly would not harm, for a chop up 2d it hurts a tiny bit yet then the ear is going numb. Gok Wan has stretched ear lobes, so till your making plans to stretch your ears, i could decide for the stud. solid luck on in spite of you compromise on.

yes you should do any cartilage piercings at a tatto parlor/body piercign shop! always! they are very clean.. and are actually trained. its not some teenager punching a hole in your ear. the shops use hollow needles which are used for all piercings and youd be much better off healing wise and pain gettign it doen with a needle. they are faster than a gun and heal alot more faster!

It would be best. Not only would it be a lot cleaner, but they can put any jewelry you want it. Also when you have it done with a hollow needle instead of a gun, there is less damage so there is less change of infection and a quicker healing time.

Its just a normal helix piercing, isn't it, unless its two with one ring joining them together? Either way you should go to a piercing/tattoo place, you shouldn't pierce cartilage with a gun.
