No ....if it is its only a self fullfilling prophesy. I mean this world is only bad because people make it bad. Nothing more, nothing less...if people worked on getting along then we wouldn't even be asking this question.

I believe tribulation is near. When it happens, it would be just like the days of Noah.

In many respects, people today are like the men and women who lived in Noah’s day. At that time the earth was filled with violence, and the inclination of the heart of man was “only bad all the time.” (Genesis 6:5) Most were consumed with the daily affairs of life. Before he brought the great Deluge, though, Jehovah gave people an opportunity to repent. He commissioned Noah to preach, and Noah obeyed—serving as “a preacher of righteousness” perhaps for 40 or 50 years or more. (2 Peter 2:5) However, the people ignored Noah’s warning message. They were not on the watch. In the end, therefore, only Noah and his family survived the execution of Jehovah’s judgment.

Matthew 24:36-39 Jesus said, “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; 39 and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be."

Do you think the end of the world is near?

Yes, but Near is a relative term. according to Biblical prophecy we are in the last days. and we are nearing the end of the "time of the gentiles" which is when again according to the Bible God will avenge the Martyr. interestingly the Torah also speaks of these things as well though a purely Jewish perspective. and the Islamic Koran also speaks of the same time frame and they all seem to fit together. when and where the end will come is a matter of debate, but the general spirit of the day is the end is drawing near.

Years ago I saw this local news story in the NYC metro area about some solders who went AWOL over a ouji board session that freaked them out. So this guy/deserter was being interviewed and he said that the ouji board told them that the beginning of the end would start with a huge explosion in lower Manhattan NYC, followed by 7 years of chaos, then the end of the world thereafter.

Could that huge explosion have been WTC? There has been plenty of chaos in the world since. We have 1 more year to go before we find out.

Ain't making this up.

ARMAGEDDON! Does this word conjure up images of mass destruction or a cosmic conflagration? Few Bible expressions have become as much a part of everyday speech as “Armageddon” has. The term has been widely used to describe the gloomy prospects facing humans. The entertainment industry has fed people’s imagination with horrific scenes of a coming “Armageddon.” The word is shrouded in mystery and misconceptions. While ideas as to its meaning abound, most of them are not in line with what the Bible-the source of the expression-teaches about Armageddon. Since the Bible links Armageddon with “the end of the world,” would you not agree that it is vital to have a clear understanding of what the word really signifies? (Matthew 24:3 , King James Version) And would it not be reasonable to turn to the ultimate source of truth, God’s Word, to find answers about the nature of Armageddon and what it will mean for you and your family? Such an examination will show that instead of bringing a cataclysmic end, Armageddon will introduce a happy beginning for people who desire to live and thrive in a righteous new world. You will be rewarded with a clear understanding of this vital Scriptural truth as you consider the discussion of Armageddon’s real meaning in the .
What do you think Armageddon or the end of the World is? A nuclear holocaust An environmental disaster A collision of a celestial body with the earth Divine destruction of the wickedness we live with today.
Yes Armageddon is near!(Zephaniah1:14)

I don't personally think so. It's impossible to predict, but I wouldn't over-analyze any "signs" like wars, nuclear ambitions, diseases, etc.

Throughout history, many people have claimed that the end of the world is near, and they were all wrong up to this point. The bible warns us to not try to predict it.

Eventually, someone will be correct, but there's a very, very low chance of anyone alive today witnessing the end of the world--not from this vantage point anyhow.

Two scriptures come to mind. First Matthew 24:3-14 where Jesus disciples asked for a sign that would let them know that time was at hand. His answer reads like todays newspaper in many ways. The other is 2Peter 3:3,4 where the bible points out that in the the last days there would be ridiculers who would not believe that the last days are upon us. There are other scriptural proofs but these are two that you can think about for now. For more try this web site.

Yes.
The Parable of the fig tree.

SIGNS

Christ gave some events to recognize the end times.

In Matt.24:3-8, Mark 13:5-8, Luke 21:8-11.

Many shall come in my name (authority) saying I am Christ (Christian) and shall deceive many.

The best example of this is the so-called Rapture. This is a LIE which can easily be disproved by God’s Word. Christ returns at the seventh trump.

Wars and rumors of war.

Nation shall rise (rouse from obscurity) against (along side) nation kingdom against (along side) kingdom.

The words “shall rise” (eg-i'-ro) in Greek means “rouse from obscurity”.

This word “against” (epi) in Greek means “along side” not in opposition to.

Since 1990 (30) new countries have emerged. We now have the global market place or the global community.

Famines.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

This famine of hearing the words of the LORD is very apparent on TV. Maybe a verse or two then mans’ words for 20 minutes.

Pestilences.

Aids, mad cow disease, bird flu and etc.

Earthquakes in diverse places.

This word “earthquakes” (seismos) in Greek means both “earthquake and tempest”.

Look at the hurricanes we have been having.

All these are the beginning of sorrows (birth pangs).

This word “sorrows” (odin) in Greek means “birth pangs of childbirth”.

The birth pangs of a new dispensation, and the contractions are getting closer together. The water may have broke during the tsunami of 2004.

I dunno. People say it is because the world looks messed up. But the world has been through much worse in the past. I imagine during the Great Plague that hit Europe people thought it was the end of times as well.

But even if it is close to the end I dont let it get to me. This story has a good ending.
