Has your Dog been in the woods? My dog Reggie started doing that and it was some sort of rash. The only advice I can really give you is to try your best to him stop itching and biting. That will only make it worse. The Vet will probably prescribe a lotion,- at least that's what they did for my dog. If it a rash, then I think it will go away, your dog should be just fine. Good job because you are going to take your dog to a Vet though, that is what you should you do! You're a good pet owner.

This could be an allergy. Good for giving her a bath, that should've eased the itching a bit. With an allergy test you can find out what your dog is allergic to, and you can talk to your vet about what you can do to help her out. If it's bad enough, you can also get medications from the vet.

has she got a tic by any chance? This type of behavior is seen when dogs pick up a tic from somewhere. Check closely behind the ears especially and at the base of the tail near the anus. These are areas rich in bllod that tics prefer.
Treatment is to burn the bum of the tic or best take it to the vet.

She may have mange. Mange is a parasitic infestation of the skin of animals. Common symptoms include hair loss and itching and inflammation, all of which are caused by microscopic mites. Mange is most commonly found in dogs and other canines, but it can occur in other domestic and wild animals. Similar skin infestations in humans are not usually called mange.
The mites embed themselves in the hair follicles or skin, depending on the type. Both detection and treatment can be difficult and generally require consultation with a veterinarian.

Try changing the dogs diet. Just give it plain food like cooked rice and cooked plain chicken. And check her slowly and carefully all over her body even inside her ears. She might be allergic to fleas, they don't even have to be on her.

What did you use to wash her and did you rinse it off thoroughly. It could be causing further irritation. She is definitely having some type of allergic reaction. You may need to take her to the emergency vet if she gets much worse.

our dog has done that before.. with the tail thing... i went through his tail and snipped all dry looking hair that looked irritating and going everywhich direction & applied an anti - itch ointment all over his tail. human anti-itch ointment that i purchased over the counter. skin allergies can cause this.... try using food and treats without a lot of artificial coloring in them. good luck. as far as anti - itch ointments... vagisil cream also works.

It could be some type of mange or it could also be some sort of allergy. You can give her Benedryl (dosage is 1 mg per pound of weight) every 8 hours until you get her to the vet.
