It only takes a few minutes, it's generally a simple procedure. Healing may take a few weeks, ask your vet, as it could differ for an individual cat.

It takes the vet about 15-20 minutes to do the procedure. Depending on whether or not the vet does disolving stitches you may have to bring her back to the vet. That would probably be around 7-10 days if that. The healing time is the same as the time when they get the stitches out so maybe 7-10 days. For the hair to grow back probably a couple weeks. Although it takes a little longer when I see it because they explain everything that they open and take out. The cat will probably have to stay at the vets for 2-8 hours depending on how strong they put the anesthia on. My vet only puts on a light anesthia so the cat wakes up about 1 hour after they're done with the surgery. Without all the instruction the vet does it in about 8-10 minutes.

The actual procedure is quick - maybe 15 minutes. But there's all the pre-surgical stuff and the wake-up time after. Most spayings are now being done on a one-day basis where you drop your kitten off in the early AM and pick them up that same evening. Recovery time can be a week to as many as 3-4 weeks depending on the cat and its ability to heal and feel better. But it's always recommended that if you have other cats to avoid contact between them and the newly arrived home kitten for at least 2-3 days.

I just had two spayed, little strays who showed up with their mother at about four weeks of age. They're also about six months old now. The operation doesn't take that long, but they do need some time to recover and wake up from the anesthesia. My vet prefers they stay overnight so they can be monitored but others will let them go home a bit groggy the same day. Stitches can come out after 10 days or so. They first couple of days the girls were subdued and slept more, but bounced right back and started playing as if nothing had happpened. Their mother was spayed as soon as the kittens were weaned and she continued to allow them to attempt to nurse the day after the spay! (They were about three months old and it was more a comfort thing than need for food.) It'll take the shaved hair longer to grow back than for the incision to heal.
Good luck to you both, and thanks for being a responsible pet owner!

I'm not sure how long, depends on the vet and you can ask him that question.
She will most probably stay overnight if you have a good vet. He will want to monitor her during the recovery time.
I took my cat in at 9:am and picked her up next morning at 9:am. The healing times depends on the cat. My cat took 7 days to heal.
If you have other cat's around you must put her into a room after she gets home so other cats won't wrestle and pull out the stitches.
Females need more time to heal than males.

I had my cat spayed at a Mobile clinic that was being held in the area because at the time i could not afford to get it done any other way. Which actually turned out to be the best. I brought my little one in and it had an appointment time. It took them time for my cat to get looked over and then given the anesthetic. They did the procedure and then it took an hour after the procedure before i could pick up my cat. They had to make sure my cat woke up and afterward and that there were no lasting affects. In all it took up an afternoon of my time but it was worth it.

The procedure itself only take a few minutes to do but your cat will have to stay at least a few hours to overnight to be sure she comes off of the anethesia okay and will at least drink. Healing takes a few weeks but generally they glue the skin so in that case, there will be no stitches to worry about. The hair can take 6-10 weeks to fully grow back in, almost the entire stomach will be shaved. You should not allow her to jump, go up and down stairs, or be held for the first few days at least to ensure she heals good. The vet will give you more details about the entire thing when you go.

It's a fairly short procedure; your cat will probably stay overnight at the vet's office. Healing time is a couple of weeks.

It takes about 30-45 minutes to do the procedure - she will be groggy when she comes home - and will be sleepy for a 24-48 hours - but should be back to normal with in 2-4 days - but keep her from jumping so she doesnt rip her sutures out.
