I think two or three pounds a week is the recommended pace. It does depend on the person though. If someone has a lot more to lose, they will lose more quickly at first.

For fat loss, and to lose only fat and not lean mass, 1 pound per week is a safe bet. This also enhances the chances for the weight staying off.

If you're quite heavy, losing more at first is likely, but that pace is temporary. Again, though, if you're more than 50# overweight, you can expect more than 1#/week. Maybe as much as 2-3# early on, then 1.5-2#, and eventually the 1# per week pace will set in.

slowly. Not only will it last longer, but It's more likely when you lose weight too quickly that you're not losing fat, but muscle mass and water weight. I think I remember hearing in my college health class that the most weight a person an lose in a week, is 2.5 lb in fat.

go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. good luck,my friend

no more than 1 lb per week. i know it sounds slow, but the diets that say you'll lose 5 lbs a week are extremely dangerous. its hard on your body and doesn't allow your body to adjust. a lot of times there is a "rebound effect" (when your body will actually gain weight faster when you stop the diet.) if you loose too much weight in too short of a time.

I would have to suggest to just work out with light weights, more reps per set,and do plenty of cardio vascular work outs, and also eat healthier, like eat 6 smaller meals a day with plenty of protein. This will help lose weight and you'll build lean muscle, so you'll look and feel healthier than you feel now.

it all depends on the size and health of the person that is losing the weight. Decrease your carbohydrate intake and increase your protein intake. This alone will speed metabolism and shed calories leading to a safe way to drop the lbs.

for the most part 1-3 lbs is a safe range for weight loss. the problem with rapid weight loss is that it usually comes at the expense of losing major amounts of lean body mass.

the goal of safe and healthy weight loss is to maximize fat loss and the preservation of lean body mass.

people don't gain 50 lbs of fat in 60 days, I don't understand why they expect to lose 50 lbs in 60 days...it's common sense

It depends how large you are. If you are very overweight, you could lose as much as 3 lbs a week safely, but if you only have about 15 lbs to lose, 1 lb a week is as much as you could do safely.

the slowest...
that way you lose a lot less muscle and more fat.
i've heard 1~2 lbs a week is good-
but remember that slower is better :)
