They will dry the skin on top of the pimple but not penetrate down into the follicle where the bacteria are that cause the pimple.
Look for a product with benzoyl peroxide- it'd formulated to penetrate and kill bacteria. You can get a generic drug store brand- look for the percent of it in the ingredients.
It's the same ingredient in ProActive that you see on all the commercials- all the stars pay big bucks for the same product you can get in any grocery store or drug store, just by being smart and reading the label!:)

alcohol NO because it's too strong for the facial skin which is a very sensitive part of our body. some peroxides are especially formulated for pimple but it's effectiveness varies from person to person.

i don't think peroxide will do anything. Alcohol will dry it up. It may make it red, but the pimple will go away faster.

Hydrogen peroxide is alright, and a lot of over the counter products contain this.
Rubbing alcohol is super drying and can be really irritating, and cause itchy skin.

Wont do anything.. Try this for the pimples you have right now try toothpaste regular not the gel kind, put a dab of it on them before bed... You may want to invest in Proactiv it worked for me! All my friends and family use it too!!

the alcohol normally dries the pimple up apply a hott toewl to the pimple that will pull the head of it out or bring it to a head shall i say gl

When I get a pimple, I wipe it with an alcohol wipe and it goes away within 24 hrs.
