In the US I know that you can take a course on the internet. Is it as simple in BC? I want my brother or step-father to take it so they can preform my marriage ceremony. Thanks.

I live in another province, but i know the laws must be similar in B.C. To be legally entitled to perform marriages, you must either be a Marriage Commissioner, or be an ordained minister, and obtain and fill out the forms thru Vital Statistics. The requirement usually is that so many people sign that you are a religious representative. Go down to Burrard Street and get the forms. There are probably pamphlets that explain it better there too.
Good luck in your marriage.

There is no such thing as a "legally ordained minister"--the government does not ordain mininsters. They can only recognize ministers duly ordained by recognized religious churches, organizations and denominations. Check with various bible schools, seminaries, denomination offices and churches in the part of B.C. where your step-father resides. They may have a list of accredited Bible institutes and schools with online courses.
