I've been to psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, you name it I did it. I still seem to be sad a lot...I wonder if it's seasonal affective disorder?

Well, anyways. Has anyone ever found peace in religion? I used to be a Christian but I left it for many reasons. What's the most peaceful religion, not in the physical sense but in the spiritual sense. You know, no evil hell threatening to bar you from heaven if you don't do this or that e.g. accept Jesus Christ or you're going to hell! I'm depressed enough lol, eh don't fill me with hell this or hell that. What is the monk religion? They seem to be happy. Thanks.

Yes !

Today so many religions are in the world for example christians, buddist, islamist, hindu, zoastranism, jain,etc.... This list can toll up more in coming years. Because people are using religion as way to earn money. But there are exception, some may be more stubborn about their bible principles, yet they teach the wrong things, about bible & its controversies. So to tell the truth the bible do not specify, those who don't accept jesus would be to hell. This is wrong teaching. Because the bible book says John 5:28,29 "Everyone including righteous and unrighteous would come from the Tomb, and those who have done good get life, and those who do wrong get death". This clearly specifies that people who don't know righteous things would come.

As psychologist, psychiatrists, therapist, counselor you seem no peace religiously!

If you have a correct knowledge about the bible you can know which is the peaceful religion

This evil hell you speak of is not what bars you from heaven. It's the choice you make. I made a choice to follow Jesus 10 years ago. In that time I've had my ups and downs. We all do. And when things do get tough, it always seems God is there to listen to my anger, my hurt and my frustration.

I've met a few people who profess to be Christian who have caused me much pain. Unfortunately, they're all too human, like you and me. So please don't let human mistakes keep you from a relationship with God. He says that if you seek him with all your heart and soul, you will find Him. Perhaps you just haven't found Him yet. Took me 30 years.

Therapy and counseling can work for the mind, but we're talking about something much more sensitive and demanding ... your heart. I haven't found anyone who can bring peace to a restless heart better than God.

Try to get personal with hi. No formal prayer stuff. Just sit back, relax, cut out all the distractions in your life and just talk to Him. He listens. And when he knows you're ready to trust in Him, He will respond. Peace.

Forget the monk religion, i.e. Buddhism. The monks only seem to be happy but they're not. Believe me I should know. My mom was a Buddhist and now she's a Muslim - a happy Muslim. If you're so into spiritual mysticism, then Islam provides the solution through Sufism. You can read major masterpieces of great Sufi scholars and patrons like "Alchemy of Happiness" by Imam al-Ghazali, "Bezels of Wisdom" by Ibnu Arabi, "Wisdom" by Ibnu Ata Allah, and so forth. I'm reading them and believe me when I say that they are beyond great!

Peace and Love

I live in Los Angeles and have peace with all the gangs around. I have religious zeal.

Buddist chant for peace at a moutain top and then come down to the villiage and see a widow with snot out her nose, and crying eyes of hot tears flowing down her face and she is hungry without food and heart broken. If they do nothing to help her they are not righteous, so, they go to the moutain top to seek peace they must have somehow lost. I have the peace of Jesus Christ which surpasses all human comprehension. The Prince of Peace and Universal Ruler of Peace. The only peace this world will have is in and through HIM! So, he scared the hell out of you like that's a bad thing? I was raised in the peace movement.

Yeah, Buddhism. Or maybe Christianity as practiced by various ascetics (such as monks). Maybe they're more at peace because they mind their own business and don't expect anyone to live up to their ideas of righteous living. Or try paganism or Wicca, something Earth-Mother oriented. Still kinda wacky, but they don't condemn people to eternal hellfire.

Have you been prescribed antidepressants? Maybe you need a low dosage.

Try the course in miracles.

Its not really a religion but it does help you to create a close personal connection with God.

No nonsense about judgment or punishment or hell. Just a God that loves you and knows that He created you perfect just the way that you are.

Love and blessings Don

Seems to me you're looking for temporary happiness instead of eternal happiness. This is not to sound mean, but it that's the case maybe religion of any kind is not what you should be researching. I suggest you take a look at "Christian Relationship With Christ".

True peace and love are in Jesus Christ. Religion on the other hand is man made. Faith is not religion, Faith is God working in man, religion is man working to please God with the works of his own hands. This Bible verse shows how humans should come to God. I should add this all done in Faith. Ac 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
