Guys don't give girls their numbers just to have a friend. We are just fine and content with hanging with the guys. He is too shy to ask you out or fear rejection. If he gave you the number, without reason, then he was trying to avoid an awkward moment. If you are interested, then give him a call, if not, then don't. So you calling is affirming that you are interested, and if not, then he'll know that too, and no awkard moments had to endured.

You never know what it means, he may like you as a friend, he may like you like you (you know) or he just may want to talk. Just call and see But dont jump to conclusions tho you could get your feelings hurt. Hope this helps!

Well he wants your attention! He wants you to call! He might start off saying "oh good, I needed help with homework" but just let it build up. don't be worried if you end up liking him and he rejects you; don't tense up and jump to conclusions that he may like you if you've only gotten few indirect hints if that's going to lead you to heighten your hopes too much.
But yes, see how it goes and be yourself. He might be just as hesistant as you are, don't feel alone!

you know what, guys get shy too!!! i think he might have been a little embarrassed and shy to actually come up and give you his number. its great that he got that far, dont expect him to go farther than he can. its possible that he just wants to get to know you, and who knows, it may develop into something more later on :-)

well when ever a guy gives me his number its cause he thinks im hott...so he either thinks your hott or he really wants to get to know you all guys are diff about that
