Well here is some info that may help. If you choose to get a Golden Retriever, you will have hair everywhere, you also might have an allergy to the hair, since it is a great deal of it. But they are really easy to train and great family dogs. You will have to give the Golden Retriever constant baths, b/c their fur gets extremely oily, especially in the summer, which can definitly cause odor. If you decide on a Yorkie, they are very yappy, but make sure you train them from the get go to keep them from getting too noisy, they also shed , but obviously not as much. me Personally, would get a yorkie if i had to choose, b/c I wouldn't be willing to wash a dog constantly and have fur everywhere. Labs are nice dogs though, not as much fur if you would consider those. Its just that not a lot of people think about allergy issues "befure" getting long haired dogs.

Like comparing apples and oranges. One is a tiny little thing and the other a much bigger dog. Now, what is it that you are looking for in a dog. The Yorkie is a tiny love bundle, which you can hold and carry around with you. The Golden is a big and loveable dog, but will take much more care because of its' size. Also, there is the amount of food the golden will eat in comparison to the Yorkie. On the other hand, yorkies are noisy while the golden will bark less.
How much room do you have. Yorkies take up only a little part of your house and goldens require a whole lot more room.

A golden retriever likes exercise and Lots of it. He is an action dog-one that can go and do things with you. A yorkie on the other hand is a small dog that is quite happy staying home, sitting on your lap. For me, I'd like a yorkie.

Golden retrievers are nice dogs. My daughter has 2 of them. However I prefer small dogs, so I have to vote for the yorkie.

It depends on what you want out of a dog. Goldens shed. Alot. And the hair is long, and tends to get stuff matted in it. They are susceptible to things like ear mites, hip dyslpasia, and of the four males my mother has had in the last 20 years, two have been gay. Yes, GAY! Aside from these factors, they are fabulous dogs, dedicated family members, and all around great friends.

Yorkies? I can't say because I don't like them at all.

I would choose a Yorkie because they're a great cuddle dog that can actually fit on your lap, they shed less then a retriever, and they will absolutely let you know when someone is attempting to come into your house. Plus they eat less.

depends on your living space, how much time you have to exercise it and what you would like the dog to do.

A yorkie is a good little house/apartment dog that you can easily exercise inside or outside.
The golden will require more time outside to run and play, but makes a good partner for longer walks and such

Yorkie. I am not a big fan of any of the Sporting dogs (but that is just my personal preference).
