long story short a ****** in my gym room hit me in my eye for my axe. yes the deordeant spray, he gave me a black eye. what got me so mad/sad was that it was a black person that did it. IM BLACK!!! I make it a point to not fight people expesialy my own people. I guess the real reason is that we just got finished watching a movie about martin luther king and how we all must get along and stuff and 5 minn. later this happens. ironic. its not the evil white man who hits me its the ingornant *** ger I call him that because after seeing his rap sheet in our school(his counsler acutaly described him to me as a druged out phycopath who is poor and his family only live here in the good old subbrbs because of welfare. because of the reasons I can not bring it to myself to call him a black person. him and people like him make me ashamed to be black. i guess my real question is that I might be able to sue him do you think i should? or let it slide because he is regretably one of us.

Im sueing him for revenge because unlike martin I will not sit back and be beaten if there is nothing to gain he took all that crap because he had to fight for his peoples rights. and then try to have peace in america with ALL americans but I will gain nothing if I just turn the other way. things like this has happen every day in my school today it just happend to me. they dont listen to logic and reason If I just beat him up tomorrow I would be no better than him.

ok race may not play a Important factor in this but this is not the first time black person who has done this to me (no not all of them hit me) im not putting down a whole race just people who act like him. oh and buy the way the only people who do this kind of stuff to me just happend to be black. Im proud to be black and others should be proud if the white asian ect. Im just not proud that they are black because they embrass our race when they do these things they make us look like a bunch of criminals. and If I can't sue them I will make sure he will be kicked out of school people like him don't deserve a second chance ( besides he has been given tons)

I didn't read that entire long *** question, but, at least try to take comfort in the fact that he wasn't a racist, just an asshole. He hit you like he would have hit someone of any other race.

But to answer your question: yes. You should sue him. He's an asshat; it shouldn't matter that he's black.

I'm sorry about your eye. I didn't think one student could sue another over an incident in school. It seems that the only thing that could happen would be the culprit getting suspended or expelled. Given that he already has a 'rap sheet'. If you do sue him, what are you going to get? If he is poor it ain't going to be much. Lots worse has happened in schools. Through life,I've found that people of every race, creed, and color might do you some injustice. If you don't fight back, you are just giving them permission to come at you again. Good luck.

I think this guy that hit you already has his plate full of problems. If you sue him, it'll cost you money and you'll probably not get any money out of him. If anything maybe you can press assault charges against him.
I'm surprised to see you say that he makes you ashamed to be black though. It's not your fault that he is the way he is regardless of his race. You seem like a good person and you should be proud of yourself just for that. We can't control what color our skin will be when we're born so it seems kind of silly to be proud of something we have no control over. But we can control how we treat others, whether good or bad. We can control how we act or what we say. We can control how we interact with others in school or in life. Be proud of doing the best with what you have. If you're intelligent, be proud of that and share your gift with others to help them learn too.
Martin Luther King was, in my opinion, one of the greatest Americans ever to have lived. Not because he was black but because of the things he stood for. He just happened to be black. Good people and evil people come in all colors.

I don't think it's worth suing the guy over. The timing was ironic, yes, but Martin would just turn the other cheek, and not make one feel that he was looking down his nose at another. Know that there's good and bad in all cultures. The Bad don't care who they hurt. If the opportunities there, chances are they will react to it, regardless of who's on the receiving end. Keep to the path you're on with your shoulders high. Good luck.

Don't sue him it's a waste of time it,s not worth it... people like that are ignorant ...and they make it a disgrace to be black ... but they don't know any better... I believe that your a product of your society take me for example i was raised around a majority of Mexicans and Asians so basically i don't act like "the norm for black people"??? i speak properly i don't like rap music.. and I'm told i act white too.. i think most of the black people you describe are that way because they don't know any better... and usually they don't have anyone to teach them anything better... and they were raised in that type of society or a society were people act just like them and have the same mentality so how do you expect them to act any better and most of the people who make it out the ghetto and make something of themselves have had a seed planted by someone...that showed them that there was more to life then the cards they've been dealt so those people get lucky and strive for more.. and if you believe in god the best advice i can really give you is to forgive and forget ... and pray for him he needs it...

wow. i'm sensing a lot of anger from you against white people; at the same time, you seem to hate your own race, as well.
think of it this way: people are people. bad people are bad people. good people are good people. stop focusing on the race issue. it will help you out in the long run.
no, i don't think you can sue him for that; it's your word against his. all he would have to do is say you punched him first, or something like that.
spell check: "especially", "ignorant", "deodorant", etc., etc.
if you hit him after he hit you, why do you think you have the right to sue him? and if he comes from a poor family like you say, what would you get out of it? your axe back?

ONE!!! One black person. You are black and now you are resorting to putting down the entire race. You got hit by a knucklehead and race did not play in that role. Stupidity and violence is and never will be a racial thing. Never put down any race, it is not the way to deal with this. You got socked in the eye, but that does not give you justification to be derogatory to a race. I do not think you should let it slide. This is something better dealt with by the schools administration. I am sorry this happened, but do not resort to racial epitaphs, that will just give others another reason to use them. I wish you the best.

You said he hit you hard enough to cause a black eye? That's criminal battery.

I recommend you contact the law enforcement officer at your school, if you have one. If not, then call the police from home. I know it seems disloyal to rat on someone, especially if you feel some connection to them. But.. This situation isn't about color. It's about doing the appriate thing when someone else commits a crime... regardless of black or white.

First, learn how to spell. Second, study MLK's life beyond the 'I have a dream' speech.
I'm sure this person didn't hit you in the eye because you’re black. Why did he hit you? Maybe he did it because you're a jerk.

people who are black aren't your only people. Asians, native americans, whites, and everyone in between are also part of your "people." You are also judging this person that hit you. You don't know why this guys hit you. Maybe this guy needs some kindness from you. Get over this incidence and stop thinking of blacks as your people. Everyone is part of your peoples.
