Yes, it does damage your hair. One thing that you can try is straightening your hair every 2-3 days instead of everyday. Don't shampoo everyday either if possible. You can shower, but pile your hair into a shower cap. Also, be sure to deep condition weekly. If your hair looks funny after sleeping on it, try experimenting with new styles- a fancy ponytail, a bun, etc.Good luck!

I've heard the same thing and kinda brushed it off and continued to iron my thick long hair every day ....

I'll let the split ends go - because I don't expect to be split end free but the condition of my ends and how THIN the iron made my hair feel was amazing.

I now straighten with the iron only once in a while and the difference in volume and shine is incredible.

So yes .... I do think ironing everyday is very bad for your hair!

It will have no effect that differs from a curling iron. What you want to look at is how high the temperature is at. Also, if you are straightening your hair while it's wet or damp, it will definitely cause some damage. If you want to re-moisturize your hair, try a product like Nexxus with a formula specific to moisturizing. It's expensive but it really nourishes the hair. You also want to use a deep conditioner and leave it in for about 5 minutes, applying heat if you can. Then you can apply a leave in treatment. I really like Moroccan Oil/Argan Oil. It's a very light, non-greasy oil that is super awesome for moisturizing hair. You can find it at a hair salon supply store like Sally's.

Yes, it damages your hair if you do it too much. Especially doing it everyday and if the iron is really hot.

Yeah doing it every day will damage your hair, so that's why you need to use a protective spray to use prior to straightening (or whatever iron your using) ..Also using a shampoo & conditioner made specially for people who iron their hair works wonders..

Yes it does, if you want to keep straightening it try using a product that protects it while you iron it, and use a product after like a hydrating shampoo and conditioner

Yeah, you can get pretty bad burning damage. Your hair will just be drier and more lifeless the more you iron it.
