Don't even go there.
I once dated a girl that was 17 years old, nothing right but I was 34 years old at the time. (it was in Georgia and 16 is the age of consent) We loved each other and did until she had an affair with her boss.
When you're both over 18, age makes no difference.
BTW, she turned 18 shortly after we started dating.

I agree with you mother!! I am a 34 yr. guy and have dated several people younger and older than me. 7 years is a HUGE gap. Either he is really immature or just knows that you will be taken by the novelty of dating an older guy. Although you might get along great now, seven years is a HUGE gap; you are only young once have fun doing things with guys your own age. When you're 27 your life will be much different and you will be looking back at your early twenties wishing that you could go back and hang out with your friends. That said, you're an adult do what feels right.

Your mother is not crazy about the fact that you two are dating because there is a difference in the stages in your lives. When you are 20 and in college, you have a much different lifestyle than your boyfriend does. He is 27, has a job and is probably looking into settling down. The different stage thing is my best guess.

Really after 18, age really does not matter. Most parents are 10 years apart, and really you are 20 now this is your life not hers you really need to stand up for yourself and make the decision

My bf is 30 and I'm 38.
Age doesn't have much to do with it,although sometimes its easy to see the age gap.

i don't think that it is a big deal. As long as yall like being with each other and like spending time together don't worry about what anybody else thinks. You will never be happy trying to please everybody belive me i was just there with my mom. But you have to put yourself first. Let your mom get to know him and she will come around.

this really comes down to maturity. He may be immature which is bad at 27, or you may be mature, making it ok. Go by your gut.
