I know steroids are bad for athletes, and that they have bad side effects on the user, but I was just wondering if there are any main points about steroids and how they are good or bad. I have to write a contraversioal essay on how they are good and the one on how they are bad...so if you could help me it would be greatly appreciated!

steroids are not as bad as people think. unfortunately like everything else the media (and many Dr's that know nothing about steroids) blows everything out of proportion just for ratings or to sell more copies.

just like many prescription meds that have FDA approval (which is a joke these days) there is a BIG difference between use and abuse.

ALL medications have some kind of side effect. a side effect can be as harmless and excess water retention to as harmful as possibly causing seizure and death.

in that aspect steroids are a lot safer than a lot of drugs because it is physiologically impossible to overdose on steroids. there is no lethal dose that can cause immediate death in hours, days or even months. the same can not be said for many other prescription drugs, there are literally hundreds that when taken in excess can cause certain death in minutes and/or hours.

for the most part most injectable steroids are safer than orals. there are some oral steroids that are hepatoxic (toxic to the liver), these are known as 17-aa steroids or C-17. the tablet is passed through the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) then to the liver which tries to destroy it preventing it from reaching the bloodstream. scientists solved this by placing a carbon atom at the 17th position of the steroid molecule. this allows the steroid to make it through the first pass of liver metabolism. this improves the bioavailablity of the steroid molecule allowing it to pass through the liver into the bloodstream where it can be attached to the specific receptor site on a muscle cell.

there are 2 types of injectable steroids, oil based and water based. for the most part steroids that are oil based have a longer half-life than steroids that are water based. they may only have to be injected once or twice a week while a water based steroid has to be injected daily or every other day.

I have spent thousands of hours learning about the pharmacokinetics of anabolic and androgenic steroids. I have been around professional bodybuilders my entire life. my father and uncle both played professional football. I have done my research and know the truth about these substances and the information provided by the media, especially televised media is so far from the truth it's ridiculous.

I do my own research regarding every vitamin and nutritional supplement that I put into my body. I only wish that the masses would do the same.

below are some links to point you in the way to your research, good luck!

The idea that the use of anabolic steroids are "bad" is an unsubstantiated myth. In fact there is no objective proof whatsoever that steroids are bad. 99% of those riding on the "steroids are unhealthy" bandwagon have no earthly idea what steroids even do.

You say you know that they are "bad" for athletes. How are they bad? What do they do that are so bad? Were you aware that the health risks involved with taking an aspirin are greater than that of Anavar?

Steroids are good for a number of reasons:

1. They have healing properties. Athletes put their bodies through more stress in one season of their chosen sport than most people will in 10 years. Compounds such as Deca actually help restore joints after unusually stressful periods.

2. Doctors routinely give AIDS patients Anavar to help restore bodies ravaged by muscular atrophy.

3. The use of testosterone, and its derivitives can prolong an athlete's career and allow an aging athlete to continue doing what he loves at a high level.

It is one thing to break the rules and take banned substances - but to say that steroids are unhealthy is just not true. The argument over this should be about the ethics of taking steroids - not the health issues.

I have many friends that are on HRT - they are taking prescribed testosterone injections to help them feel normal.

Steroids are not addictive. You don't see steroid junkies in the streets, and they don't rob stores, or little old ladies, to get a steroid fix.

Steroids have significant area consequences not least of all infertility, impotence (unquestionably your testes shrink and end functioning mind-blowing leave you with balls the dimensions of peanuts in case you utilize them over a protracted quantity of time), boldness ( yep, they are in a position to make you lose your hair), gynecomastia (guy boobs), Liver maximum cancers (not all steroids purely specific varieties) and anger matters (roid rage). i think steroids and steroid precursors might desire to be banned and made purely accessible by prescription interior an analogous way the final public of lady hormones are. the fact is that steroids will purely construct extra suitable muscular tissues in people who're hitting the wellbeing midsection for hours on end. the final public of human beings going to the wellbeing midsection a pair of times a week won't truly see any benefit yet they are going to experience the area consequences. what's worse, they're peddled as a speedy restoration especially to scrawny young infants who decide to bulk up. those young infants actual be stricken by the area consequences of steroids extra suitable than a completely grown grownup does and yet down positioned on the muscular tissues an grownup does because of the fact something of their physique isn't waiting to help it. So unquestionably, they're bought for an analogous reason cigarettes are bought - It makes politicians a variety of of money.

For more than a decade, the use of steroids has been well known to give athletes a much needed boost in their journey to be at the top level of their game. Because of their use of the drug, they are able to go beyond normal bounds and take that extra step needed to go accomplishing incredible feats. There are many advantages to taking steroids when one is involved in sports like basketball, hockey and of course, good old baseball. It takes a lot of focus to be good at this sport as well as dedication and training that when done in the right way, would make one a very good athlete espbaseball steroidsecially in baseball. But why go through all that when you can increase your chances of getting a home run with steroids? Yes, the use of steroids as has been proven over time can make a good athlete even better.

Steroids increase testosterone thus giving more strength to the one who takes it and as we all know, you’ll hit the ball farther if you are stronger. With proper use, taking steroids would exponentially make any athlete better than he/she is before. In baseball, there are certain factors that are requisite for an athlete such as speed, hand-eye coordination, timing and strength. In most of these aspects steroids can play an integral part of one’s improvement and will no doubt make you better all around. As a stimulant for appetite and bone growth you won’t only be stronger but also healthier while using steroids as you put on more muscle mass. It is also guaranteed to give better condition and the effects only take a couple of days to be noticed. Overall better health condition will help you increase your chances of getting a home run with steroids not only in the sport of baseball but also in life as you will have a healthier, stronger body.

There have been many debates over the years about the implications of using steroids and most have chosen to condemn its use. However, there is no denying the benefits that the use of this drug can give not only sports athletes and but also normal people who are not involved in sports but want to be in tip top shape for the time when they are called for to play. After all, why shouldn’t anybody keep themselves from being as strong as they can be? In the world of baseball, the overall impact of the use of steroids extends not only in offense but also on the defensive end as well. Stronger means better, faster, more focused and as we all know those are important elements in one’s game. Of course the most exciting part of baseball is when a player on a team hits a ball right on while being thrown at him at 70-80 miles per hour sending it going, going, and going, gone into the stands! Now you can’t just dream about it, you can live that dream and increase your chances of getting a home run with steroids.
