He doesn't believe in war. Nor defending. Oh wait he did bomb an aspirin factory sorry I forgot what a patriot he was. Someone told me he was a conscientious objector during the nam days and he went to a party in Canada that lasted 3 or 4 years. But not positive on that one.

Bill Clinton didn't serve in the Armed Forces at all.
Neither did Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama or Evan Bayh, to name a few.

He didn't feel like it. Besides, he was in Britain at the time as a Rhodes scholar. We do need smart people to design and build all of those cool weapons.

IIRC, Clinton is the first President who never served in the military. At least we are starting to get a little variety in our Presidents.

He was a concientious objector. He was also a Rhodes scholor, and went to Cambridge.

He may have politically powerful family - that can't be proven or denied.

But, he was legitimally able to avoid the draft.

he went to school in Canada and was able to dodge the draft. he came from a broken up household. His parents were divorced and his mother was on limited money. So, he was a perfect candidate to go to war and he saw that coming. So he enrolled in college in Montreal I believe and avoided going to war. he studied law and Political Science there and got involved with local political committees toward the end of the war. He was in college in the states as well.

Easy -- can you say "chicken draft dodger"?

But he lied to get a deferrment so he could maintain his "political viability". And ended up as the President.
