As your body adjusts to so severe a calorie restriction, it will go into "starvation mode," where it will attempt to preserve your limited resources by slowing your metabolism. This will not only slow your weight loss, it will make you feel very weak and lethargic. Worse, you won't be able to lose weight efficiently anymore. Your body will have become accustomed to surviving on limited calories, so when you attempt to return to a normal diet, you'll be gaining weight instead of maintaining it. 90 pounds is too skinny for 5'2, a more appropriate goal would be 100 - 110 pounds. You are already underweight, and continuing to starve yourself may lead you to develop full-fledged anorexia, which can have devastating effects on both your health and your appearance.

Some might say subtract your daily output of calories (~2000 per average person) from what you eat. But the problem is when you undertake such a drastic diet, your body shuts down as a result of starvation and stops generating energy for unneeded parts, such as hands and legs to protect the brain and the organs. So your energy will plummet and your body will burn a lot less fat.

Your best bet would be to eat a healthy diet and divide into 6 small portions through out the day so your body is always digesting. Trust me, I know you really want to lose fat QUICKLY, but they way you want to do it, you will end up with more fat.

Just want to say that on 300 calories per day you will lose over 80% muscle and less than 20% fat. For example, if you lose 5lb in weight, only 1lb will be fat loss and 4lb will be muscle loss. You will end up with a much higher body fat percentage, is that what you were hoping to achieve?

I don't know if you are a male or female so I'm going to assume your female because most woman are self conscious when it comes to weight. Lets assume you are 160 pounds. In order to keep your weight you need to consume 1500 calories per day. In order to lose weight you should consume 1000 calories per day.
Your losing 500 calories per day so thats 7 days which is 3500 calories you will lose each week. 3500 calories is = to loss of 1 pound. Lets say you consume 300 calories per day, your body needs nutrients in order for you to function properly whether you work or go to school, you won't be able to function properly if your only eating 300 calories per day. You'll lose weight and you know that it is unhealthy to consume that much. If you really want to lose weight really fast, try taking in only 20 grams of carbs per day and you'll get immediate results in less than 2 days. Its also a lot healthier than only consuming 300 calories per day. If you continue eating only a maximum of 20 grams of carbs per day I guarantee you that you will lose 1 pound per day. This diet is called "Atkins" It works only if you want to lose the weight fast. Its not healthy for your liver if you do it for a long period of time. Good luck.

Doesn't matter bec you will gain it all back immediately when you resume normal eating. Don't be stupid. Go the gym: WEIGHTS. And Zone diet is cutting edge. Don't be impatient; you will lose weight pretty quickly on the Zone diet, but in a safe and permanent way. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO BE ANOREXIC TO BE VERY THIN.

Seriously, you don't know. If you cut back that much, you won't be concious enough to diet like that by the 3rd or 4th day, not to mention that you will lose muscle mass, not fat...and remember, your heart is a muscle.

i won't lecture you, except i'll tell you that you could very well not lose any weight and possibly gain it since your body will try to hold on to every calorie it gets.

Concerned - usual for extreme loss 1500 calories is recommended, 2000 most of the time. Please Vitamins. No more than 40 days or your organs can begin eating themselves (adult). If you are not and adult DON'T!!!!!
