i sometimes think the same thing and have to convince myself that it is very unlikely that they are talking about me. I suggest you do some reaserch about social anxiety, you may have some form of it.

No this is not weird. It has to do with being insecure and over
sensitive. I suspect no one ever told you that you were doing a great job, that they were proud of you or have given you many compliments. I use to suffer from this as well. I didn't think to highly of myself and I was a "can't do" person. All that changed when I met my best friend. She start giving me compliments.
It was hard to say anything positive about myself. Now I am a
"can do" person. I like myself. So, start each day off by saying
something positive about yourself. The fact that there is no one
else like you makes you unique and special. Go from there.

I suppose it's human nature to be uneasy when others in a room laugh and you aren't part of the laughter. We probably all at one time or another feel insecure about what others think of us, and it's easy to assume that other people are laughing or talking about us behind our back. Usually they aren't! Try to practice walking up to groups and introducing yourself, and see if your insecurity about others laughing doesn't subside! Good luck!

I know how you feel, this doesn't seem weird at all to me.
When I used to go shopping, and go into a store alone, and run into other girls, I'd see them whispering and would think they were whispering about me. I'd have to leave the store.
I always thought everyone was judging or staring at me.
It was my low self-esteem talking.
Insecurity sucks, it really does. But really, you need to gain it! I'm sure you're a decent person, it's usually the decent people who feel so sad about themselves.
I hope you build your self-esteem up, I have and it's done me a world of good.
I can't give it a specific name, sorry.

I knew someone whose child had this condition, but do not know the name of it. I believe it had to do with an emotional condition. I do not think it is strange. You might consider asking a therapist for further advice. (I think ANYONE could benefit from seeing a therapist at least once!) Best wishes to you.

Go out and make a friend, then you can laugh with your friend and feel good and not be worried about other people.

it's called paranoia. it's also a very commom feeling among millions of people. people who are quiet, shy, introvert, and insecure are more apt to feel the pangs of paranoia.
i suggest you go to a library or bookstore, or search the internet for information pertaining to this illness. the more you learn, the more you are empowered to deal with the fallout of paranoia.
after becoming familiar with the symptoms and signs, it might be worthwhile to visit a psychologist or counselor to discuss your feelings of insecurity and paranoia.
best of luck!
