i have to know for my computer project

If you fly direct from Dulles, it is about 5 hours, but this can vary by about 30 minutes depending on the winds (headwinds). If you are leaving from downtown DC, you figure a 45 minute drive to Dulles, plus a minimum of 1 hour before your flight arrives (plus the annoying people movers to the gate) and then your flight, so probably about 7 hours from your door in DC to Sacramento's airport.

You can fly from the closer airport (Reagan National) but you will likely have a connection somewhere in the midwest as planes out of National are relatively limited in the distances served.

I don't know if there is a direct flight out of BWI, but your travel time to BWI plus check in would mirror Dulles, but you'd probably also have a layover somewhere in the middle of the country.
