I am going to Austria in march through an exchange program at my school. I need to bring a present for the family that i am going to be staying with... but i dont know what to get them. I live in Northern California.... any ideas? Than you :D

Bring something that's 'native' to California. Something unique to the area or at least the US. Usually something small is enough (and thoughtful)
Salt n Pepper shakers in a fun shape
Candies
A coffee table book with pretty pictures
Snowglobe
Memorabilia from local sports team
Stay away from anything dealing with alcohol or religion.

Nothing that needs to be plugged in, their outlets are different than in the U.S.
