I changed my wedding colors 5 times before I finally decided on black and white with red accents for my upcoming fall wedding. It is a tough decision. Good luck!

Go with colors you and your fiance both like. You can have just one color or a main color and an accent color. Just keep in mind a couple things:
Is the color going to look flattering on everyone? Not everyone can wear orange well so you might opt away from a color like that.
In wedding pics are the colors going to be so light that they blend in with the white dress? My mom is a wedding photographer and she recommends not going with really light colors as they don't photograph as nicely.
Whatever color you chose don't go too original or you might have trouble finding the colors you want when decorating. The last thing you need is to be stressed trying to find matching tablecloths or flowers.
Hope that helps.

I picked my wedding colors based on season we were getting married, what some of my favorite colors, colors that looked good with the skin tones of my bridesmaids, and colors that complimented each other. Since our wedding was in the fall, I chose burgundy/wine and gold.

If you don't have a favorite color, then pick colors according to the season you're getting married. You'll find that if you choose colors according to the season of the wedding, you will be able to find accessories that match much easier.

A lot people go according to the season winter and fall people prefer the deeper colors and spring and summer are the brighter colors and pastels and some people use their favorite colors. Don't worry about whether or not your colors will clash, it's your day, if that's what you like, then that's all that counts. :)

There are many things you may want to consider:
a) seasons... a combination of gold, oranges and browns may look odd at an outdoor spring ceremony.
b) What looks good on you, your groom, and your bridesmaids
c) What you and your groom like... my husband is pretty metrosexual, but he still doesn't like pink (oddly enough he does like specific shades of purple), so we avoided using pink.
d) Your location. Some churches or banquet halls have a specific color that sticks out, and you may want a scheme that will elegantly blend it in.

i really wanted atypical colors, because that's my personality, and i love bright colors!! i decided to base my colors according to the flowers i wanted for my bouquet, which were stargazer lilies. so my colors were lime green (jewelry & accents) and a deep reddish-pink.
my advice would be to pick colors that make a statement about who you are. if you're a modern, sophisticated kind of gal, go with muted earth tones. if you love the beach or sailing, go with an ocean blue and a taupe (sand). you get the idea.
congrats, and best of luck to you! :)

Usually they are 2 or 3 colors YOU like & blend together and go with the season. You don't use Spring colors in Autumn.
Colors like icy blue & silver, red & gold; or pink, yellow & peach or red, white & blue.

definitely go for colors that compliment your skin color and tone.
And, don't settle for the first opinion. Also, judge how sincere the answers are.
Your favorite color may/may not be the best for your special day.
