I don't know.
Just don't dip the cats into it when you do get the recipe, OK? I had some white gravy at a breakfast potluck in Arizona about 20 years ago. The person who cooked it obviously had A LOT of cats. I mean there were just clumps and clumps of hair in the stuff. After a while everyone was just gagging like we had hairballs, which technically we did! It was a sausage gravy served over biscuits. We never found out who bought it in, the pan just sat there for days. I guess the owner was too afraid to claim it.
White gravy, ACK! *cough* I haven't touched the stuff since! ACK!

Allow 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine to melt in a saucepan on medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour and cook for 5 minutes, whisking constantly (this forms your thickener). Pour in 1 cup whole milk and salt and pepper to taste, whisking constantly until desired thickness and lumps are dissolved. Remove from heat.

Note: Don't allow to get too thick, because gravy will thicken as it cools. You can just modify the quantity of ingredients based on how many people you are feeding. This is your basic white gravy. You can add chopped sausage, bacon, etc. to make a good breakfast gravy to serve with biscuits.

depends what you have on hand. Say if it were a roast chicken, pour juices from the chicken into frying pan on med heat, then add say, potato water and flour and water to thicken (always shake flour and water together in a jar or something so you do not get lumpy gravy) and salt and pepper to taste. Stir with a wisk as it thickens.

When you make sausage or bacon, remove the meat and add an equal amount of flour to the grease.

Add less flour initially and whisk it. Add a small amount of flour until you get the consistency you are looking for.

I could not say it better than AlwaysOverPack's recipe. It's perfect. The cream and chicken broth will add delicious flavor and texture. All the bacon options are nice and tasty, but not a basic requisite.
